Chapter 4 - What can we do Vyra?

Hands looked around and things were being set up. When Chuya walked up with her kit he gave her a light hug and kiss, "Still a darling little boy."

She returned the hug and peck, "He is and thank you. I'd like to introduce you to my mate Hakari. We know about your people's views on relations and as much as it might be interesting, we're off the menu." She laughed after teasing him.

Hands rolled his eyes at her, "I'd say I'd seduce you just for the teasing, but... Greetings Hakari. You have a lovely mate and kit." He gave the man a good hug before introducing those with him, "I'm looking forward to this. This is my daughter Kara, her husband Steve, and Liraque Icy. Their pups, Kathy and Ray, are on the ship. Ray's named after my brother."

The man returned the hug, "Thank you and so do you. You and your mate have a lovely child also. Nuzzle's kit is darling. I'm pleased to meet a male Liraque. If you would like Hands, we'll escort Kara and Steve while you press flesh and kiss babies." They moved away and let others start coming over. For the first fifteen minutes there were many greetings. He did move around the room while Icy remained with Kara's family and escorted them.

"Thanks to both of you. I appreciate it." Hands considered what Hakari said and with a slight grin decided to embrace his Folician side. When someone held a hand out to shake hands he'd take it and pull them into a good hug. He resisted the urge for the usual peck since it would be going a bit too far. Many of the representatives looked uncomfortable with the hugs but didn't argue against them.

Hands started with Isa and she returned the hug with a grin, "Talk to you later. I'd hate to hog the attention." She moved away from him before accepting a glass of champagne. She stood off to the side and watched the fun. With Nuzzle and Savory carrying their babies... She had to frown since it looked like they had some sort of harness thing to carry them in which seemed to come from their robes or inside them. Before she took a sip of the champagne she handed it back. Since she was pregnant she shouldn't drink. One or two occasionally wasn't bad but she might as well get used to it. Instead she asked for a seltzer water with a squeeze of lime in it.

Savory wanted to thump Hands since he was deliberately hugging people for a reaction. True, it was the Folician manner of greeting, but he should have gone with the handshake. She'd have to growl at him later. Since he was hugging she was as long as it didn't squish their baby. She enjoyed the compliments, the ones which were meant. The others she ignored.

Once the greetings were over Hands was doing his best not to flirt with some of the women. He could sense the interest of many of the females which was amusing. Maybe during some of the visits to the ship but he wasn't going to push it.

They separated and started wandering through the crowd. As he was feeling the urge he'd wander past one of the various tables and get something to snack on. At one table he found a woman giving one of the offerings an unsure look. He wandered over to her, "When I went to Folicia I decided I wasn't going to ask and just try the food. I didn't want to know if the food was made from some weird deep cave thing or some plant which looked like it might want to bite. This dish is very good and has a hint of spice." He took one and nibbled on it.

She gave him an odd look before she almost leaned against him and smiled, "I guess that's one way of looking at it." She was trying not to blush as he stood close to her. She'd never been close to him before and he had a tantalizing scent. She finally gathered her courage and picked one of the bites up and took a small bite before her eyes widened, "Wow, this is good." She finished the bite and didn't realize when she leaned against him.
