Chapter 8 - Kids on the ship

A/N:  Not totally happy with this.  Will probably add more when I edit it.

~~~ At the pack

Zane gave him and the others a careful sniff, "Congratulations to both of you. Pups are valued and precious. If she doesn't go back with you, we'll take care of her for you." He moved over and gave Hands and then Joy a good hug.

"Welcome to the pack Joy and as I said we'll take care of you for Hands. He and his family are good friends of ours. Come, I'll show you the hot springs for pregnant wolves. I have a feeling you need to soak the shock away. Kat and I'll relax with all of you. How was the meal last night?" He wrapped an arm around Joy even as Savory was doing the same for Hands.

She was forced to blush, "Hello Second Zane. This is so out of anything I've expected. So many notable people paying attention to me. You, Hands, others. It's so strange to me. I'm just an assistant and happy with it."

Zane had to laugh, "Tell me about it. I expected to be a beta wolf but look what happened, Second, Alpha, Elder, and back to Second. I rather liked being a Beta. Darn Adam and all that good stuff. I'm still not old enough to be an Elder or even an Alpha. I keep resisting the urge to become a lone wolf. If I did I know my entire team would hunt me down and have Tessa deal with me."

Savory wasn't able to muffle her laugh at Zane's comments. She did have a hand over her muzzle, but it wasn't stopping the snickers and laughter, "She is a rather strong willed junior wolf isn't she?"

"Savory, I hate you. I really do sometimes. Your amusement isn't appropriate darn it. I might consider dunking both of you later." He traded looks with Zane and both started laughing much to the annoyance to their mates.

"Now for a good soak." Zane grinned at Hands.

Joy rolled her eyes at the others but wisely kept her mouth shut. She was still trying to figure out how she was feeling about being pregnant with his children.

"By the Pack Lord yes. The tubs on the ship are nice but sitting in that ridiculous building you call a greenhouse sounds wonderful. You'll love it Joy. Adam showed it to me when the supernatural came out." Even as sad as he was he had to laugh, "The Folician government honestly didn't believe it and sent Savory and I to verify. I didn't have a problem believing after having met several deities and a dragoness. For some reason they could believe in those but not humans who could change shape."

Zane grumbled at him, "About as shocking as having honest to goodness Aliens show up out of the blue. Drove up to the gate and asked to talk to Adam or Brook. I know I had a few problems. Now enough of the serious stuff. I'm tucking all of you into some hot water and have Beth come and relax with you. Might have her bring Victoria as well. She's also a mind healer though she did move to a different pack. She is here for her annual visit."

Joy had to shake her head, "I wasn't born when they came out. I grew up knowing them and had several friends at school who were supernatural." She noticed the glares from the two guys before she realized what she'd said.

"I might change my mind on dating younger women. Make me feel old. Maybe I'll take Vyra up on her offer and then I'll feel younger." Hands barked at Joy and then Savory when she thumped him.

Beth was already there and pulled him into a good hug, "We'll take care of you this weekend. Welcome Joy and I'm Beth. Tori is checking in with Len and will be here soon." She gave the other woman a good hug.

Hands loved coming to the pack when able to. They were always friendly, and the puppies loved his attention. He had a feeling it was due to who he was. Even at the temple and pack property they tended to find him and pile around him. He wasn't sure if Adam or Zane had mentioned something, but the pack was going out of their way to comfort him. It helped but only for a short time.
