Chapter 9 - Will you become a trainee

~~~ The reaction about the dinner

As it had been mentioned most of the time the children were aboard was being broadcast. Before they showed the faces of any of the children they'd received permission from the parents. It showed the flight up including the invisible walls. During the trip to the lounge and then the meal most people were mostly quiet. They were watching the children's and crew's reactions and to most they seemed to be honest and open.

Some people were hitting the forums hard, but most were simply watching to see what was next. Much of the world was almost staring more at the views of the ship than the children. Ultimately most of the world was tied up in the footage which was showing. It was obvious they had some sort of gravity since they were walking and not floating or using mag boots of some sort.

The scene where Vyra had called them to attention and in some sort of formation, for a moment the world froze. They weren't sure what to make of it until Vyra started handing out the crew medallions. About half the world went 'awe'.

Marlene, Fel301 watched the entire thing before she did anything. When the striking woman handed out the medallions she had to wipe a tear or two away. She finally hit the forums, Oh damn! The ceremony thing was wonderful. The kids looked so worried at first and then so happy. Damn I'd love to have one of those. Even if it was replica pin it would be so cool.

Fahad, Barq2516 had watched and felt it tug at his heart as well, oh damn, I agree, I'd love to have one of those. It was a wonderful view of... Oh, damn it, I'd love to go up and personally see the view. The entire thing with the pups (grin) was wonderful. It wasn't just the views, but I could feel the care the Folician's had for the pups. The last bit almost killed me. I could feel how much joy the feelings of the pups meant to the crew.

Live316 couldn't help but hop on the forums when she returned. How she'd been selected she didn't know but she couldn't help but feel her fingers keep stroking the badge she'd been given. As she saw the replies piling up she was almost embarrassed by what she was seeing, Um, I was on the ship though I won't say who I am. It was incredible and... When the Admiral called us to stand straight or whatever they call it I was so worried. When she gave the baby and her older sister one, I wanted to cry. I got one as well and I'll see if I can get some copies made. Obviously, they wouldn't be original since I won't give mine up for anything. I'll let you know.

There was a pause before the forum went bloody nuts. The replies were so fast it wasn't funny. She had to turn the volume off, so she didn't get nothing but bings for attention.

Kevin wanted to grumble when the AI contacted him. It informed him one of the posters had been on the ship he frowned, *Fine, ensure her identity and location is hidden. Direct all attempts to identify her or locate her off the Maldives. Just for good measure she's working on a tsunami device which might swamp them as well. Keep me up dated on what's going on with her*, KEP001 hope you enjoyed the food and view. The view was incredible, and I wish I could have tried the food.

Smiles had to laugh at Kevin and his reply, Smiles2963 It was a lovely view of Earth and the Folician's wasn't it? The ceremony at the end was so touching. Not sure if any of our countries do this sort of thing but if not, it would be a wonderful idea. I found the interior of the ship fascinating. I was thinking something like one of the Earth ships, but with gravity, which it looks like they have, there is no reason to have all the stuff on the sides of the hallways.

Live316 grinned at KEP's response, I did. I did make a face when they called them Bronto burgers. I don't like that stupid cartoon, but they were juicy and had a really interesting taste. The Lish dogs were pretty tangy as well. Don't remember what they called desert, but I'd do almost anything for some more of it. I couldn't believe I'd been selected. Mom didn't know what to think when she received the call. I think she thought it was a joke someone was trying to pull. When a Folician showed up in the living room she sorta had to change her mind.
