Chapter 7 - Um, pregnant?

~~~ Contracts

Hands had done as he'd promised and called Ray. When they were connected he couldn't give his brother a smile, "Kara and her family are coming to Folicia. The wolves can't do anything and though the dragons are looking into it I'm not holding my breath. It isn't why I called though. I was all contracts with the following countries cancelled..." He listed them off, "As I'm sure you know there was an attempt on my life and nobody was amused. Talked to Kevin and he's going to talk to you about canceling them. I want them to pay for what they attempted. I want their governments to fall apart and be replaced with better ones. I'm so angry it isn't funny." He knew part of it was redirecting his grief into anger.

"We know about the attempt and I've already made my thought known to Kevin and the other Enclaves. From what I understand few are willing to deal with them right now. It isn't so much anger at what happened but to avoid annoying us. Don't care, all contracts are going to be canceled soon. There are a number of countries who are doing the same, so we shouldn't stick out."

His expression softened, "We'll take good care of her Hands. No matter what happens she is pack and will be comforted. Love you bro and hope you are home soon. Have no worries. If she's called to the fold you know the Goddess will take care of her much as she did with Flitter. She will be back though when I don't know. Keep letting your pack members take care of you." He cut the connection and leaned back against Zantha.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close, "She will take care of you and your brother. Misty is on Earth and I'm going to suggest she go and see him. She can also comfort him." She pulled him out of his chair and to his room. Several of the pack showed up and slipped into bed with them.

~~~ First group for food

Hands being who he was, decided to invite a group of the junior U.N. staff up for the first meal. The senior staff were already getting a meal in several days, so they could live. He'd told Vyra and the others to do much the same. The first person he talked to was the lady he'd been chatting with before all went to hell, "I'd like to invite you to the ship this evening." He gave her a wry grin, "Don't need to worry about being shot up. Thumped by my pack maybe or Daisy but not shot at."

Savory thumped him for good measure, "The proper method of dealing with annoying pack fathers in Ray's pack and cadet packs. If you're smart you won't take him up on the offer and run away. It's safer that way." She wrinkled her muzzle at him and growled.

Joy stared at the two before the snickers hit, "Oh man that was funny. So, who all's approved to thump on him? Just his pack or others?" When he growled at her she snickered even more, "I'll expect you to protect me from his bad jokes Savory." She was still snickering when they sat down to eat lunch.

Even as he was growling Savory bumped her shoulder, "Will do Joy. Can't promise much else but I can do my best to guard you." Today it looked like something noodlish with a white sauce and chicken, "Just zip it Hands. Just don't make any bad jokes about Chicken, the other white meat. If you do you will be sleeping in the lounge for a week."

Joy had to cover her mouth as she coughed. She'd heard the joke the other day and it had been so bad, "Don't even start while we're eating. If you do I will go find someone else to flirt with this evening. Maybe Daisy."

He didn't even think, "She's too old for you." When a spoon thunked him in the back of his head it hurt, "Hey, that wasn't nice, and it hurt. Thumps are fine but using silverware isn't approved." He rubbed his head and glared at Vyra since she was the one who thumped him.

"You deserved that for some of your comments. Don't date older women, Daisy is to old, and more. Deal with it Strong Hands Johnson. She glared at him before moving on. It didn't help having Daisy glowering at him.
