I was currently sitting on my bed eating ice cream and listening to some music, but was interrupted by screaming. I slowly got up putting my ice cream on the night stand
"I don't even know why I even got with you!" I heard my mom yelled, and then heard glass charted
I open the door, and saw my mom bleeding from her nose, and my step dad was drinking a beer looking down at her
I slowly walked towards her, and bend down
"Go to your room ri-riley" she stumbled a little, I shake my head no "go, please"
I got up and walked to my room, they kept arguing and going back and forth for hours, till I heard moaning decided turned the music louder
Next day
"The paper is due, next week Thursday so you all have 6 days to do" Ms. Angelou my English informed us "I don't accept late work" The bell ring, i gather my stuff and walked to my locker getting a few stuff i needed
"Hey Riley" Wendy, some girl from my English class said, that i never talked to
"Hi" i said dryly, closing my locker
"Do you want to sit with us at lunch" she said,
"sure" i agreed, since I thought it was a good idea, so i don't be alone
We walked over to the table where there were a couples girls eating their lunch, she introduce me to her friends and they all started to talk among themselves.
My phone vibrated, I looked at it seeing that my Kairi and Benjamin texted me
Kairi: we should hang today after school or tomorrow ? - 12:15 pm
Me: it'll be better today- 12:16 pm
Kairi: alright, i'll meet you in front of your school- 12:19 pm
Me: ii Bet - 12:20 pm
Benjamin: are you going to be home today? - 12:15 pm
Me: no why?- 12:21 pm
Benjamin: No reason, i wanted to go talk to my father since he ain't answer the door or his phone- 12:22 pm
i felt bad that Benjamin was trying to have a relationship with his father but to him it seem like alcohol and drugs are important to him, only if he knew what his father did
"Riley?" Wendy snapped her fingers on my faces
"Oh my bad, yes?" I asked her
"We were wondering if your older brother is single" she asked smiling, curly her curls with her fingers, I furrowed my eyebrows
"Why don't you ask him yourself and find out" I told her, getting up since i knew where this was gone, I went to class early and decided to work on my English essay since i had a free period.

"What we finna do today son" Ricky asked while rolling a blunt
" We should go out to the club or some" He nodded, while i texted Riley back and then Joshua came in with a bag of McDonald.
"You sliding some right?" Ricky said lighting up the blunt , Joshuua shake his head no, stuffing fries in his mouth
"Yo, have y'all since Dean?" I asked, getting the blunt from Ricky
"Facts, where the nigga been?"
"We should asked Kairi or his baby moms" we nodded
The front door opne, and we all froze revealing Joshua and Ricky Grandma
"Ben and Ricky, y'all better not be smoking in my goddam house" She put her bags down, and Ricky ash the blunt on a tray, while Joshua stood in a corner eating his food and then their grandpa walked in
"Y'all were smoking without me" he said sounding disappointed, and we all laughed, Then Mrs. Reyes hit him with her elbow, we helped them putting their bags away
"we better get going and find out where Dean been" we nodded and left to Riley school
"Isn't that Kairi?" Ricky asked, we turned around

"Wassup, do you know where your cousin at?" I asked, and she gave us a surprised look
"Y'all haven't heard, he got arrested"
"For what?" Joshua asked her
"Not paying support "
"I thought his baby moms and him were together " Joshua said
"He caught her cheating so they not together, and y'all know how crazy she is" we nodded "He asked for y'all, he told me he'll call you by next week cause they took his phone policy"
