Chapter 16

When we both stepped outside the restaurant, we both walked over towards Calum's car.

He opened my door for me again before going to his side.

He started the engine up and began to drive.

It was a really nice night so I asked Calum where we were going.

"Calum, where are we going now?" I asked him

"I knew you were going to ask me that! I was gonna keep it a surprise but I knew I wasn't going to be able to keep it up!" he told me

I felt quite bad.

"You don't have to tell me. I can wait" I told him

"Nah it's fine. Do you want to know?" he asked me

"Yeah go on then!" I said quite nervously

Calum just smiled.

"Well I was thinking we could go to the beach and watch the sun set?" he explained

"Aw Calum! That's so sweet! I'd love to!" I told him

"Really? Awesome!" he said growing a big smile on his face

Calum drove us through to the beach while we were just making general chat.

I loved spending time with him.

I know it was only the first time I had spent time with Calum alone, but something just clicked with us.

SOME TIME LATER...

Calum pulled up at the beach.

I took my shoes off because I didn't want them getting full of sand.

Calum got out the car and came to open my door for me.

"Madame!" he said as I got out of the car.

It was quiet but it was nice.

We both walked onto the soft sand and walked along beside the tide.

After about 5 minutes, Calum reached out for my hand.

I went shivery for a second but I liked it.

I looked up at Calum and saw he had a big grin on his face which made me smile.

"This feels right Carly!" I heard him say hoping he meant about us

"What does?" I asked

"This!..Us!..I feel like I've known you for ages, and when I'm with you, nothing else matters! Something just clicks between us you know?!" he explained

I felt a spark between us and when Calum said that, I was so happy.

After walking for a bit, I gently lay my head on Calum as I felt him wrap his arms around me.

I was so happy and I felt special as we both walked back towards the car.
