Chapter 13

Anxiety fills the air. The air becomes thicker and the time has come to fear.

Some may fear to lose and some to live. If life continues then what haunts the most? The Death. If life is filled with luxury, what haunts the most? The Death. If anything happens whether it is good or bad, what haunts the most? The Death. Overall everything leads to death whenever someone fears or decides to not play any more in this materialistic world.

However, still the world seems to be interesting as it is the stage for beings to play their part. Moreover, in the part of Mayuri, she is the keeper, saver and killer.

It has been 10 years since she met Yuuka and befriended her. It started with the mission of overpowering the Heinz Family but as said nothing is guaranteed with the first attempt and it was the case for Mayuri.

She stalked, noted, and followed every steps of Yuuka. She was heavily cautious with her every move and feared death. She knew the risk she was taking but it was all for her family. She knew betrayal meant death in Heinz Family but there was nothing she could do to become Royal herself.

It was Yuuka’s 13th birthday. She looked pretty as a princess. She smiled with her glory.  She brightened the world for Heinz that day. However, it was also a day when Mayuri was given a task to murder Yuuka and take away the sole Light of Heinz Family, resulting to destroy every little hope of Heinz.

With the cunning moves of hers, she fooled everyone with her smile even Lord Heinz. She talked, joked and played around and no one suspected her. She was sure she was no seen within her moves. She excused herself and walked to Yuuka’s room and found her dressed. She was looking herself at mirror multiple times even though she knew she was looking perfect.

“Yuuka, its time to go. Everyone’s waiting for the birthday girl.” Mayuri smiled.

“Mayuri, you came. Wish me! Wish me!” Yuuka squealed.

Mayuri chuckes at her innocence and wished. “Happy Birthday, Yuuka! I hope you will live millions of years and at last find your beloved.”

“Thank you! But…” Yuuka gave a saddened look.

“But…”

“But…I don’t think I could live any longer.”

“Why do you think so?”

“Mayuri,” Yuuka turned around and walked towards her window which was covered with curtain. “The world is a fascinating place. It is an old phrase but yet it is repeated and exists. Do you want to know something, Mayuri?”

She turns around and stares at Mayuri. “People are a simple clown. They show their tricks and leave. They don’t take words, they take actions and here my friend, I am the guest and around me people are clowns. I knew from the beginning you were brought here to assassinate me. However, I accepted your place here to find your true motive. Even though I figured out, I want you to answer me about your true motive.”

Mayuri’s eye widens and her body freezes. “Peace.” She whispers enough to let Yuuka hear her reply.

“Here I have some questions for you. What is peace? Is it brought by assassinating powerful people or killing the enemies? What happens if the cycle doesn’t finish? What if another powerful being is born? Will you kill him/her again and again? My friend, you are not bringing peace. You are creating dark.”

“Killing. Killing brings peace and I know it. I will not fall for your words. I was told about your mystery powers in your words. They work like a spell and manipulate people’s minds.”

Yuuka sighs and gives her big grin at that moment. She takes her steps without any hesitation. She knew Mayuri had sword. She had other arms but why fear her when all this time she was a friend to her.
