Last Day

*Ellie's POV*

It's my last day here with Stevie. I'm really sad, but I need to put on a smile and enjoy our last hours together.

When I leave Stevie is going to be working with her new label. I'm going to be touring more and doing some summer festivals. I'm excited, but not at the same time. I would be way more excited if Stevie was coming with me. I can just imagine her face when she sees all the new places and new things.

We are taking a morning walk in the park near her flat. There are many people running past us or riding their bikes past us. Stevie stops for a second and bends over.

"For you!" She smiles and hands me a flower, well a plant.

"Why did you pick the entire plant?" I laugh.

"It was an accident." She blushes and laughs with me.

"I love it! But I think it needs to go back in the ground." I say and put it down where she got it.

We take a seat on the grass facing each other. Stevie picks the grass and throws it at me.

"We need to do something crazy before we leave." I suggest.

Stevie stares down at her hands. She looks up at me with wide eyes. "I wanna show you something!" she smirks.

"What?" I ask.

"Let's go and you'll see." she grabs my hand and helps me up.

"Close your eyes!" She says and covers my face with her hands. She turns me around and leaves me. I keep my eyes closed.

"Stevie if you scare me..." I trail off.

"I'm not." she says.

I hear her fumbling around behind me. She grabs me by the shoulders and turns me around. I feel her soft lips brush against mine.

"Open your eyes!"

I open them slowly unsure of what I'm about to see.

"You have a motorcycle?"

"Yes! And we're going to ride it!" She says excited.

I'm a little unsure, but I'm up for it. Stevie scoops me up and sets me on the back of it. She gets on in front in me and I wrap my arms and legs around her. She starts the loud bike and starts to take off slowly. She turns on the stereo and starts playing music, I didn't know that this had a stereo.

We make our way through part of the city and out onto an old back road where not many cars are. It feels amazing to just ride letting the cool air hit your skin and run through your hair. I let go of Stevie and put my arms up. I've never done this before and I quite enjoy it.

We've been traveling on back roads for a while and I think we are finally at our destination. Stevie stops the bike and gets off. She picks me up off the bike and sets me down.

"Stevie? Where are we?" I ask.

We are at the top of a hill in the middle of nowhere. There are trees everywhere, I can't even see what is below this hill.

"Follow me I'll show you." She says and grabs my hand.

We start making our way through the trees and down the hill. We get to the bottom, it's beautiful. It's grassy with wild flowers, there is a pond and it's all secluded. Stevie shows me more, there is a hammock hung from two big trees and a small canoe in the pond.

"Just so you know, I'm pretty sure that we are trespassing. I discovered this a few years ago and made it into a really cool place to come and relax and be away from everything. I'm the only one who ever come here." She explains.

"I like it... A lot."

"Good..." she smiles and sits down on a swing she had hung from a tree a couple years back. She stares up at the blue sky.

"What's on your mind?" I ask.

"You..." She says and looks down. She stands up and moves over to me. She puts one hand on my waist and uses the other to move my hair behind my ear. She leans in and kisses me gently.

After laying in the hammock and sitting in the canoe we leave. We take the same way to get back to her car. She parks her motorcycle back in the storage shed and we get in her car.

I look at her as she concentrates on driving, "So.. are we just going back to your place?" I ask and rest my hand on her leg.

"No. Kyla is there with some friends and I have more things planned. If that's okay?"

"Yeah. What are we doing?" I ask.

"We are going to get some take out, then go on a picnic and watch the sunset." She answers.

"The day has already been perfect. And now there is more perfectness?" I think out loud.

"The perfect girl deserves the perfect day." She smiles keeping her eyes on the road.

We get to a lake and Stevie parks her car right next to where we are going to set things up. We lay out a blanket and Stevie lights some candles. We eat our food and enjoy eachother.

We lay on the blanket hand in hand watching the stars. I make the same wish on every shooting star that I see.

"Ellie? Will you sing for me?" Stevie asks keeping her eyes looking up at the sky.

"For you." I say and caress her soft cheek then run my fingers through her hair repeatedly.

She cuddles closer to me while I think of a song to sing. I get one in my mind and hold her closer to me. I begin singing...

"Eyes make their peace in difficulties

With wounded lips and salted cheeks

And finally we step to leave

To the departure lounge of disbelief

And I don't know where I'm going

But I know it's gonna be a long time

And I'll be leaving in the morning
