Chapter 12

Next day was a regular day for me. College in the morning and evening with my assignments. My mom was speaking with Nandini Aunty discussing things regarding the marriage preparations. I was going to get married in six months. The date was not fixed yet but it will get fixed as soon as I receive the fiancee visa.

The week flew by very fast. It was Friday and Arjun was leaving for US. My mom asked me to accompany her and Nandini Aunty to see off Arjun.

Nandini Aunty was not going to US now but after a month or so. At the airport Arjun did not even glance at my way. Well it was ok with me. I have not yet developed a lot of feelings for him. I have to be prepared for the worst. But somewhere deep inside of me or maybe a very small fraction of hurt was lying deep down there but I was more stronger than that. So I kept my smile.

I did not ask Arjun to marry me nor did I force him for anything. So I am not responsible for any second thoughts he is having now.

After saying his good byes and hugs. He came towards me and handed me a paper. Then after waving at us went inside the departure area. After that Nandini Aunty hugged me and we went our ways. After reaching home I opened the paper.

I am going to miss you a lot. Can't wait till we are together. After understanding you a little bit, I know you don't like to talk much so here I am giving you my email Id. If you ever want to talk to me.

After reading his letter I was not able to understand why was he ignoring me at the airport. Well maybe traveling and everything, he may have been very distracted.

Keeping all the thoughts aside I started to make the notes of everything from my interview to marriage things I may need.

Rest of the days were like blur. Documentation for filing for the Visa. Few shipping here and there. The next thing was we went to see off Nandini Aunty. Then Riddhima gave us the news about them that they are going to US in about two months. Jay got a job in US.

After few days I received the interview date for myself and my mom and we got the Visa too. My father applied few days ago and we are just waiting for the processing. I don't know why he applied so late when he could have applied with us. But never mind.

I did not email Arjun even once. I don't know what I should say then I decided to email him just to say hi. Maybe he was expecting something from me as well.

One email was enough to start the conversation. Not even one day was gone without Arjun emailing me. It was mostly general topics. Then the only personal topics were my likes and dislikes about the furnitures colors. Arjun was redecorating his house for me. Which was very sweet of him and very new for me. We began to form a new bond. Or maybe I started to like Arjun now.

Last days were hectic. My exams were going on then there was packing to be done. Some shopping was still left. My father at last got his Visa too. My paternal aunt's were not willing to attend the wedding and I was more than ok with it. My maternal family were all looking forward to attend the wedding. Some got their visit Visa but some were denied too. But for me most important was my mother.

In between all these chaos I was able to complete my exams and packing. It was like a blink of an eye that we were leaving for US in two days.

Riddhima already went to US three months ago. She and Jay were living in North Carolina with Pari. We were going to Illinois.

As far as I know Arjun and Nandini Aunty were living in Illinois. Samaira and her husband Neil were living in Virginia with there two sons.

New place and new life here I come.
