Wrong Decisions to Right Paths

Chapter 23

Beautiful would be an understatement. The restaurant was beautiful with lake and City view. The lights from the city was illuminating the night. The food was amazing. We talked about random things and some personal as well.

" You look beautiful tonight." Arjun said and I could see the admiration for me.

I was never admired much. The things I would heard from my extended family would be that I was too tall for the liking for groom. I was not fair enough to look pretty or I am just too plain. Only my mom and my sister would say that I have the most beautiful eyes and smile which is enough to cover any flaws if I ever had. But they never agreed that I have any flaws. Now when I see admiration in Arjun's eyes I have this fluctuating feeling. Should I really give in to the feelings?

" Thank you for the beautiful treat." I was really sincere. He really has a good taste. The theme for the wedding, the reception and everything were next to perfect.

" You are most welcome. I am really sorry that I could not give you the time you deserve but I will try my level best."

" It's completely ok with me Arjun. You don't have to say sorry, after giving me such a beautiful treat. I really loved it."

" So you want to go somewhere else?"

" Yes if you want to."

" Ok let's go near Shedd Aquarium. There is a small beach there and usually is not crowded. As fall is approaching the nights becomes a little chilly so to our advantage." Arjun said with a wink.

" Sure I love beach. At least I would not miss the Mumbai beach."

" Ok first we will stop by the hotel and change into more comfortable clothes."

" Sounds good."

Then we went to the suite he booked for tonight and changed our clothes and grabbed our hoodies just in case it gets chilly.

Chicago surely is a Windy City. My hairs were going becoming uncontrollable. But it was not stopping me from admiring the city. The city looks so beautiful at night. The reflection of the buildings in the water with shimmering lights was breathtaking.

We sat on the stones near water just looking at the waves crashing at the rocks. It was quite. We did not speak for few moments.

Then Arjun started, " so are you finding everything comfortable?"

" It's a little different from India but your mom really helped me, guided me how things work differently here." I cannot deny that she was helpful. But I don't trust her yet but till now except for this evening I did not felt anything unusual about her.

Bad vibes regarding mother in law's is still there but I think she is better than the typical ones.

" Good to hear that." Arjun said followed by long silence again in each other's embrace surrounded with peace.

Then we walked for sometime. Then we headed towards our hotel.
