Bella was tired of running around preparing for the battle and suddenly remembered the last time she hadn't obeyed Valentine. The pain came back to her as she was engulfed with the memory forgetting the busy streets of Brooklyn.
A 12 year old Bella was pacing in the corridor of the Morgenstern moving house it was clear she was nervous but it hadn't taken hold of her and she muttering about how she was innocent and wasn't worth punishing knowing secretly in her heart Valentine wasn't going to accept that easily and with no bribery or perks left to get Jonathan's help. It was going to be difficult and Jonathan usually was summoned to watch and learn. A unknown man opened the door and beckoned to her to come in, unwillingly she followed him down the pitch black stairs into the basement where she knew from last time it meant bad news. The man moved aside and indicted that it was as far he would go and she should go through, he shut the door as soon as she was through. Valentine stood in anticipation waiting for her. Gestured to the chair and she shook her head and stood her ground. He took a threatening step towards her and she shuffled back until she was against the door eventually he was stood in front of her and grabbed her hand violently and dragged her across the floor of the basement and she dug her heels screaming for Jonathan, a resounding crash came from above in response. Valentine moved quicker as the pitter pattering of feet came, He had managed to get Bella in the chair after to being bitten and scratched strapping her In place and as he brought the whip down on Bella for the third time the door fell inwards off its hinges reveling Jonathan with a hand blade in one hand and a stele in the other. That was the last thing Bella saw before she slipped into the darkness but she heard the conversation between the determined boy and angry parent.
"Jonathan what are you doing?" Valentine asked his son
"Might ask you the same?" Jonathan asked cooly
"You know your sister has been out again against my wishes and she must be punished" Valentine replied
"Not like this Father, there are plenty of ways to do it but when Bella screamed in thought she was dieing and to answer your question I am taking Bella out right now" Jonathan informed him and carried out what he said he was doing and Valentine didn't stop him at all and watched him carefully carry his sister out of the room, feeling beaten as the 12 year old carried his sister with such passion and protection.
Bella reawoke from her memory and gasped as she found she was running late and then turned the ring and popped out at the institute and began running up the aisle and then it clicked open at the top, Church in expectation took her to the library where Maryse was sat expectant in her visit and put down the receiver which Bella guessed was from Idris.
"Jia isn't happy at all that I have agreed with your terms but they have announced the war declaration and lit the towers in red and gold warning the public, they need your help to move and convince the public and Inquisitor that this going to happen" Maryse told her and Church mewed unhappily
"Yes church that does mean we are leaving you and no parties again after last time you trashed the place but the good news Bella we are sending you, Jame- I mean Jem and Tessa who can be trusted through now and we will join you later but are you sure my Son will be there cause if he or Laila isn't you are dead twice over presuming that the rest of the population doesn't do the honours first" Maryse continued
"Caterina is down stairs waiting for you as Magnus probably won't miss the opportunity to send you to visit a demon realm especially if we make it home afterwards without Laila or Alec" Maryse admitted with a slight smile
"Maryse you know Valentine he will know I have gone and he will track me to Idris maybe he won't bring them cause I have told you I don't know but if I tell you something you won't tell him"
Bella said and with Maryse's solemn promise on the angel she told her the truth and went down the stairs feeling lighter but Isabelle stopped and dragged her into her room and leant her a top and bottoms after a massive row over dresses and hunting gear as Bella's was at home as in Izzy's opinion jeans and shirt weren't appropriate for persuading Shadowhunter's a war was coming. Changing into the black top and she wore black trousers attaching a weapons belt with three throwing knives and then pulled the sword out of her jeans and put it in its holder. Then went out the front of the institute to find she arrived last, Tessa was just as Laila had told her, didn't fall for anything whilst Jem was reserved but he had trouble adjusting to her after the last time they had met at the Effiel tower by accident and ended up burning most of the ships at the port and weren't forgiven very easily. Tessa had the bubbly personality after the introductions were complete with a nod in Jem's direction which he had Acknowledged politely and Bella had added him to the list of people a who were going to kill her if it didn't work out. Caterina opened the portal, Tessa took her hand and Jem took Tessa's other hand and they were all swallowed by the tempest
