15. Fairy Tale

ELENA

I sit on the edge of a cliff, my legs folded beneath me. I absentmindedly play with my hair.

"We're leaving the states." Emmett says. "All of us."

"It's time to move already?" I ask.

"People are noticing how young Carlisle looks." He replies.

"He's a doctor, of course he looks young, he takes care of himself." I scoff.

"Well, we're still leaving." He states.

"When?"

"Tonight, so don't stay out here too long, you need to pack." With that he leaves. I sigh and start playing with my hair again.

Emmett likes it here. I can tell that he's torn. Forks has been his favorite for years, now we have to leave.

I stand and look over the edge, my hair dangles in front of my face.

"Goodbye Forks." I sigh as I turn and leave the cliff. "Hopefully Bella doesn't do anything stupid, or maybe I won't be drawn to her blood anymore. Well take care of yourself, we'll be back someday." I pat a tree as I continue to the house. I jump to the terrace and proceed to my room. I throw all my belongings into suitcases and then stare out the window. "So, where are we going?" I ask.

"I'm not sure yet, but we'll be far from Edward." Emmett replies.

"That's nice." I smile only for it to fade. "I know you really like it here, it really sucks having to leave so soon." I stare at my feet.

"I'll be fine. We'll come back someday." He pulls me into a hug.  "As long as we stick together it doesn't matter where we are."

"Always and forever, little brother." I whisper.

"Always and forever."

I smile as I approach a large house, kind of like the ones in the  fairy tales with the earthy color scheme and a very slanted roof. I open the door and set my bag down.

"We've got a lot of work to do." I turn around to look at Emmett and Rosalie.

"Well then let's get work." Rosalie smiles. I put my hair into a ponytail and she does the same. I zip around the house a few times and fix up the furniture. I open all of the windows and tear down the curtains.

"Do you like it here?" Emmett asks appearing behind me.

"I haven't been here long enough to decide, but so far I do." I reply turning to face him. "Do you?"

"It's not too bad." He cocks his head to the side slightly.

"We can go back, if you'd like." I wipe my palms on my pants.

"We can't." He shakes his head.

"As long as we don't leave the property it should be fine." I state.

"But Bella-"

"Emmett, it's fine it won't bother me." I step toward him. "Besides we wouldn't run into her."

"We can't go back." He sighs. I wrap my arms around him and bring his head to my shoulder.

"I'm sorry." I whisper playing with his hair. "I know how much you love Forks, and I know that you're always worried about me, and I know that it's not fun having to babysit your older sister."

"It's alright Elena." His arms wrap around me. "Family is more important than some stupid town anyways."

"I love you little brother."

"I love you too Elena."

"Why don't you say we just hurry up and finish this house?"

"Yeah, let's get this done."
