Emily's POV

"Looks like we've got ourselves a swimmer." Dale spoke, holding a flashlight and shining it into the well.

We had alerted the group about the walker in the well. Dad and a few others followed us out to the well, in hopes of finding a solution to this problem.

As everyone bent over the well, looking down at the rotten smelling, I asked the first question that came to my mind. "How long you think it has been down there?"

"Long enough to grow gills." Andrea remarked.

Lori pulled me back away from the edge of the well. "We don't need you falling in." She mumbled, before giving me a small push towards Maggie.

I walked over to Maggie as the group continued discussing what to do with the well walker.

"We got to get it out." Dad said.

"Easy." T-Dog stated, "Put a bullet in its head." I nodded my head. How else will they be able to get it out? I wouldn't risk drinking that water even after it is boiled. That's just gross.

"Whoa, whoa, guys." Andrea exclaimed, "No."

"Why not? It's a good plan." Glenn questioned.

"It's a stupid plan." Andrea replied, "If that thing hasn't contaminated the water yet, blowing it's brain out will finish the job."

"She's right." Lori spoke, "We can't risk it."

"So it has to come out alive?" I asked, stepping to the opposite side of the well.

"So to speak." Dad spoke, looking up at me before standing up straight.

"How do we do that?" Glenn asked.

Everyone looked at each other for a minute waiting for anyone to speak up with an idea. Just as everyone had lost hope, dad snapped his fingers.

"Maggie, do you guys have any meat or anything like that?" He asked.

Maggie shrugged, "Maybe a canned ham."

Dad clapped his hands with a giant smile on his face. "Emily!" He exclaimed, "Go to the house and ask Beth or someone to give ya the canned ham."

I dropped my jaw, but quickly pulled myself together when I saw a flash of anger in his eyes. I nodded my head and started jogging to the farm house.

I'm the youngest so I have to be the errand girl?! Really?! This is why I always wanted a younger sibling. At least then I wouldn't have to do everything he doesn't feel like doing.

I cut my thoughts short as I walked up the porch steps and into the house. Jimmy and Beth were cuddling on the couch kissing when I walked in. I immediately stopped walking and covered my eyes.

"Whoa! Okay! Did not mean to walk in on that!" I exclaimed, keeping my eyes covered.

"Oh! Emily! I.. We.. Um.." Beth stuttered out. Hearing her talk meant she was lip locking with Jimmy, so I uncovered my eyes to see Beth standing up and freaking out.
