Chapter 20............Flipping The Coin

A month had passed since the night Will and I had talked. An uneasy peace had settled between us.....falling into a routine we had both become comfortable with. The days flipped past uneventful as the lazy days of an Indian summer began to slip into fall. My parents begrudgingly began to accept the fact that I was pregnant with Wills baby and our conversations no longer circled around me leaving him. They had even offered to fly out with my brothers for thanksgiving but I had yet to cross that bridge with Will. The girls had stated to find their grove and liked their perspective school. My baby bump....well it wasn't so much of a bump as it was a fast becoming a watermelon. Best part was I could feel the babies moving constantly.

And of corse there was our pregnancy classes which continued to be my private pleasure and embarrassment. While the massages proved to be instrumental in reducing my level of discomfort and greatly alleviated some of the pain the doctor had warned about it was.....embarrassing. There is just no other way to put it. Each time Will touched me my body reacted no matter how hard I tried to deny it. The worst was when he did the massages at home as my mind was free of the awareness of other people and would run rampant in thoughts I had no business having. You had to give a girl a break tho. It had been five months since I got laid and the man touching me was beyond good looking to the point it was a sin.

I was exited for tonight as Vanessa and Mac were coming over to for supper. Tori on the other hand had declined making some excuse. Still she was being a stick in the mud and waiting for everything to be over and done with. To her Will was an overbearing asshole that needed to go away. Will was up in his office helping Kayla with her math when the panel lit up announcing a guest. I called up the stairs sayings I had it.

After taking their coats and getting them their drinks we all settled in front a seating area by the windows, "God it must be amazing to live on top of New York and see this everyday." Vanessa stood in awe of everything she could see. "Jesus I'm sure I just watch a plane take off ."

Looking frantically around you could tell Mac was worried he would get stuck in some chick conversation. "Where's Will at exactly?"

"He is in the office helping Kayla with her math " This was a new development but one I truly appreciated. Both the teacher and I explained how to do something over and over and she still struggled. Once Will started working with her things just seemed to click.

Smiling Mac shook his head, "Who would have thought. You guys are settling into quite the little family."

I smirked at Macs tease and with Will upstairs I took the opportunity to ask Mac some question. "How much do you know about Will and Clare."

Rolling his head back he laughed. "Absolutely nothing. Your going to have to talk to Will about that one girl."

"I did and he told me but I think he either omitted parts or toned them down. How bad did things get between them?"

Pausing Mac looked upstairs to make sure Will wasn't coming down. "Will is going to kill me for this but you can't say a word. After Evan died there was no coming back for Clare. I swear something snapped it her. She screamed at him constantly. Threw shit at him daily. Exploded on high over nothing and I remember several times she did it in public. When she started calling him a baby killer I would have left. When she cheated on him I would have been long gone. When she started to fallow him around calling him a baby killer in public I would have sued her ass. When she phoned to say she was going to kill herself the only thing I would have done was called 911 to let them know. When she threatened to keep trying to kill herself I would have told doctors and left her crazy ass on the phsyc ward. Only Will felt so guilty and the bitch knew it so she used it to control him."
