Chapter 24 Caught In A Moment

Over the next several months Will and I became near permanent fixtures at the hospital. Between paediatrician appointments, breast feed and just wanting to see the babies in general it was nearly a full time job. It was truly amazing to watch them noticeably grow and get stronger each day.

"It's crazy how much they look like Will. I don't even know how you tell them apart." Rory cooed as she gently swayed back and forth while holding Landin.

I heard her talk but I didn't register what Rory had said. At the moment I was trying to tamp down my anger. The green eyed monster had reared it's shameful head and my jealousy was running high. I tried to look away and pay no attention but I couldn't. Will was standing at the nurses station with of course two nurses falling over each other vying for his attention. The worst part was they knew I was standing right here with his babies. After all I had just checked them out of the NICU and into the parents room.

No actually worst of all was knowing I had no right to be jealous. Will was after all a free agent and our contract was more or less completed. All that was left was for me to move out. Even I had to admit I had postponed moving as long as I could. While Will never brought it up he was probably wondering what the hold up was.

Besides how many men have had the nurse fantasy. Why shouldn't he be enjoying his freedom. He was single and hot as hell after all. I'll tell you why. I wanted him to pine over me. Want me to stay and things not to end. I wanted him to want me the way I wanted him.

"Hey girl you want to come back to earth. It's hard to have a conversation when it's only one way." Rory snapped her fingers in front of my face.

"Sorry got lost in my own thought. I'm so tired I swear I just drift off into space and take mini naps." I know it's a lame excuse but it was the one I was using.

Rory shook her head as she continued her steady swaying motion. Looking down at the baby she kissed the top of his head. "Your mom is so silly to think she can lie to me and I won't know it."

"What exactly are you on about?" I asked while I filled out the feeding chart. Out of the corner of my eye I watched as Will flashed his smile at the blonde nurse causing her to giggle like a moron. Fucking bitch I thought to myself.

"How cute your even talking like Will now the only thing your missing is the British accent." She said smirking at me.

As I hung the clipboard back on the wall I watched disheartened as the brunette nurse wrote something on a piece of paper. Leaning in real close as she pouted her lips and batted her eyes she slipped the paper in Wills inside pocket. Evidently the blonde nurse now left alone with Will fully intended on enjoying his full attention. She laughed again this time as she threw her head back she placed her hand on his arm.

"You would think the nurses have nothing better to do in this hospital than fawn over Will." Rory was now standing right beside me watching the display as well. "I know I'd be sick of it by now. Be punching one of them right in the nose."

I started to laugh, "Ya well if I tried to scrap every chick that hit on Will I would spend my entire day fighting."

"True enough." Bending over Rory slowly tucked the sleeping baby into the bassinet. "So why don't you say something?"

"To who exactly?" I asked

"To Will who else. It's obvious how you feel about him and I'm pretty sure he feels the same. " I stood in disbelief looking at her. Rory had hated Will from the beginning and now she was telling me to talk to him.

"What do you mean obvious," I blurted out defensively.

"I wasn't the one staring out the window at them. I'll tell you what if looks could kill those two nurses would be dust." Looking down at Landin one last time she sighed and pulled out a chair. Snapping her fingers she pointed at the one beside her. "Have a seat girlfriend it's time for some tough love."
