CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
MONSTER|||||||||||
"Baby, you seem stressed."
Anabelle Garcia smiled at her mother's words. Nightfall came pretty quickly and the formal started only minutes ago. Ana still was not ready yet, but only because she was stressed about something. She was pretty sure that Peter was still after Allison and she wanted to make sure everyone had a good time tonight, especially, Scott. She wanted him to know how good of a girlfriend she could be, especially, at dances. And, she also hoped Travis would treat Lydia right tonight. Ana's mother, Amy, was working on her makeup before stating that she looked stressed.
"Maybe I am... I'm not sure. Can you hurry up?"
Amy rolled her eyes, "Oh, be quiet. You're such a teenager."
"I thought that's what I was."
"No, you're just an annoying child", she joked and Ana grinned.
"How good of a mother you are."
Ana's mother finished Ana's eyeshadow with a soft grin. "All right, you're all done. You look beautiful, mija."
Ana stared at herself in the mirror with a small smile. "All because of you."
"Are you saying that my good looks gave it to you or how good I am at doing your makeup?"
"You're so conceited, mom. All right, now, get out. I need some time to myself."
Amy shook her head, "I hate teenagers. Can I at least get a thank you?"
"Thanks, Mom. I love you."
"Love you too, sweetheart."
Ana sighed, but still felt a little happiness. Now that her mom is gone, she was excited that she can finally go do what she was planning on doing this entire day. She heard Sam calling her name about him hoping he doesn't mess up tonight with Allison, but she couldn't answer. She locked her door and went over to her bedroom window that Scott continuously climbed up to before opening it and carefully made her way out, hopefully not messing up her beautiful dress.
"Shit!"
Ana's entire body fell from the window and she cringed at the pain. She muttered a, "Oh boy." Realizing that she had twigs and leaves in her hair, "Goddamn it."
She heard her mother's voice from inside the house.
"Sam, I think I hear the raccoons again! Get the vacuum!"
