"Izuku..... Izuku!,"

Midoriya heard the warm tones of his mother calling his name as he slowly woke up, mornings always came to fast for his liking. "Izuku dear, good morning! It's time to get up! We have a big day ahead of us!" Midoriya stared at his mother not quite awake yet, shielding his eyes from the sudden sunlight that his mother had let in, "5 more mins," He mumbled after rolling back over to sleep. "Not a chance! Today is a busy day and we need every moment of sunlight we can get!  Now up and get ready!" She pulled off the warmth of his bed covers leaving him in the sharp chill of the morning air, reluctantly getting up trying to figure out what had his mother so worked up surely it was just another normal day right? He showered and joined Inko in the kitchen for breakfast.

"So uhm, is there a reason you're extra excited today?," He said with a mouthful of toast.

"Have you really forgotten?!  It's the crown prince's birthday!!  Everyone from the neighboring regions is coming to watch the prince find his soulmate! The king has set up a large ball with all the eligible princess' to help the prince find the one, and a busy town means good sales! So hurry and finish your breakfast! I'll need your help today."

Oh. That's right. His royal highness Prince Todoroki Shoto was turning 18 today, there was a big ball in his honor with all the princess' from all over the region to find his soulmate. Mum was going to use today to make the rent money for the bakery.  Midoriya finished the last of his breakfast in a hurry to help is mum, he didn't care much for the royal family, but if they could make enough money today to keep their shop alive then it would be worth it!

~Meanwhile in the castle~

Todoroki was asleep, the longer the better. He had been dreading this day for weeks now, even since his father had told him what was going on. Soulmates and birthday's where not something Todoroki cared for, just another day and another life event he didn't need to pay attention to. Even if his father insisted.

A loud knock at the door had woken Todoroki, ignoring the knock he heard the door open and footsteps walk towards his bed.

"Your highness, it is time for you to wake up," of course it was Iida. Head of the servants and the only person with the balls to walk in without permission. "Allow me to sleep, i'm feeling ill...," white lies that don't work on Iida where always worth a try, but the swift increase of light entering the room from the pulled curtains was enough for Todoroki to know that they had failed. With a heavy sigh Todoroki sat up, his 2 toned hair mixed together from his sleep covering a scar that had covered the left side of his face, his bed shirt hanging off as he adapted to the brightness in the room.

"Your highness, your father waits for you in the dining hall, please make yourself presentable for him." Iida was walking towards the door as Todoroki started gesturing him to leave, not able to find a way out of his day from hell Todoroki got up and got changed, A white suit with a red tie and a crown was enough for him to look presentable for now, however he was under dressed for the day ahead, after a final check and fixing his now symmetrical hair he left the bedroom to face the schedule his father had waiting for him.

~Back to the village~

"Good morning Midoriya!," a random villager had yelled over to him waving, "ah good morning!" He waved back, it was nice to see the village so lively for a change, this was a big day for many of the shops and vendors after all. After the drought of last summer, many farmers and market sellers where unable to make any money, even the bakery was affected.

"Momma... whats a soulmate?," asked a young looking girl walking towards the market with her mother.

"Well, your soulmate is the person that your distend to spend the rest of your life with, they're someone very special that will look after you when your sick a be there for you when your sad.  You'll know you've met them when a special mark shows up on your arm after you've touched them, it should be a symbol of something that resembles them or something that is close to their hearts. Then all you have to do is find them again."

"Like hide and seek!!!" The little girl giggled as she ran off and hid behind a pot, Midoriya was staring out into space holding a bag of flour that he was supposed to be bringing in for his mom.

"Izuku... snap out of it...." Midoriya looked over to his mother who seemed to be quite worried, "Izuku are you ok? you've been rather out of it this morning."

"y-yeah! Just didn't get enough sleep hehe!" Lies.  There was something playing on Midoriya's mind, he is known to everyone in their village, not that it was very big, but he was yet to find his soulmate. He hadn't even met them yet! He checked every time he bumped into someone, and nothing. Maybe the mass amount of scars on his arm was affecting the mark to show and he had met them already... or maybe... he didn't have one.  Maybe he met this soulmate and they died before he even noticed his symbol was there....

~end of chapter 1~

AN: heyyo, so yeah this is slow and messy, so ill explain if you didnt get it!  They can meet their soulmates randomly, like meeting a stranger off the streets, but once they have met them they get a symbol on their arms, just small like a tattoo. It stays there, it's to help them find the person they already met, getting bigger in size everytime they are closer to seeing them again. The symbol only fades away when their soulmate dies.

if you have any questions then feel free to ask!  ill be explaining it more as i go on! also any tips on writing would be amazing :3
