"How can I go forward when I don't know which way I'm facing?" - John Lennon

Stanley Jefferson made a statement the day he showed up at my high school. "I'll be waiting," he told Imogen.

I've spent every day at the warehouse that I've left my friends vulnerable. I can't protect them when my mind is elsewhere.

They matter to me and I had to make that a statement.

I needed to be at School. I had to commit to being there every day to make sure I wasn't missing out on any unexpected visitors.

The next time Stanley shows up in my home, my territory, I'll be waiting too.

I'm sitting in the cafeteria with Imogen for lunch when I noticed Travis about to approach us. He took one of the chairs and tilted it, straddling the seat. "I sure missed you."

"Hey, you." I pushed my lunch tray in the centre of the table then twisted the cap off my water bottle.

"You keep disappearing, woman."

"I know," I tell him, my shoulders slumping slightly. I twisted the cap back on the bottle. "It's tough right now."

Tough is really an understatement.

"Her excuse for everything these days," Imogen sneered as she filed her nails. "Ask her what she's been doing and she won't tell you either. "

I know I have been a terrible friend to Sierra and Imogen. I continue to keep secrets from them and they know they can't count on me to be there at any notice.

I'm trying.

I wish my life hasn't left a pit of lies but it has.

I'm trying and that's why I'm here. I've had to re-evaluate my priorities.

Imogen, Sierra and Travis are just as important as spending time with Levi. ---Even if my time with Levi is not how I'd prefer to be spending time with him.

His fault though.

---His choices have consequences.

Travis set a can of Pepsi on the table in front of him. "Where have you been, Mais?"

"----'round. I'm working a lot, Trav." I peeled off my jacket and hung it on the back of my chair. "How have you been? Staying out of trouble?"

"Yesterday got nabbed for prescription drugs," he explained, then picked up his open can of pop. "Got stopped at a road check and they said it smelled so they looked in the car. Found Oxy on my seat and charged me for possession."
