Dr Parker called my mom and Doug into a private meeting after I was assessed. The verdict, he suggested that I first have some blood work drawn to determine if I was on any drugs.
He didn't believe me when I said I don't do drugs.
Then he suggested that if I come back clean, I be put on anti-psychotic medication as soon as possible.
My mother and Doug were not very fond of putting me on medication. They 'd rather commit to prayer first as a solution before they look into medication. They wanted to cling to their faith and believe that Jesus could heal me.
Whatever.
I'm not crazy or unwell.
I'm....just getting a do-ever in life...Could be a curse or a blessing. At this point, it's leaning more towards the cursed side.
I took a step towards the kitchen, but I stopped when I heard my mom and Doug talking.
"We're not sending her away, Doug."
"It's for her own good, Cassandra."
"We can find her a life coach, keep her distracted. We can encourage her to get a job. She needs to keep herself busy. There is alternatives instead of sending her away."
"She's spiraling out of control."
I stayed to listen in on their conversation until I heard what their plan of action would be. This way if I had to suddenly run off into the night, I'd have time to prepare a to-go bag.
Ultimately they agreed on encouraging me to be more productive in my free time.
I needed a 'life' apparently.
I don't know how they figured babysitting would give me a 'life' but they were quick to suggest I offer babysitting services. The name, Breighton, came up.
I didn't know much about Breighton other than what I overheard my mom and her friends discussing during their friend gatherings. He was 6 and was being raised by his young father and grandmother. They didn't get into details about his mother but I assume that she's not in the picture.
I feel bad for the kid.
---Maybe babysitting him once in awhile will be good for him. And it will definitely keep my mind on other things rather then what I'm missing back home.
We both win.
I guess.
