It's been two days since Boyd's death and Derek's disappearance. The Alpha pack has been suspiciously quiet these past couple of days, which gave us time to heal and prepare for whenever they decided to reappear into our lives.
Isaac has shown progress in his healing with Boyd's death, but I know he still aches for the loss of his pack member. It's best that he not let it weigh him down, though. Having to explain to him that Boyd was not his fault was difficult, however, it helped me understand that he wasn't mine either. It was no one's fault but the Alphas and if it weren't for them, he would still be alive.
After the first night of his death, I had Isaac go back to Scott's for the time remaining. I'm still wary of him being here. Even if they want Derek to be the one to kill Isaac, I don't trust them enough to let him stay with me. He came to understand where I was coming from, but it was disappointing to have him leave after everything we talked about. I had finally opened up to him and he tells me he loves me, only for me to send him off to Scott's. But with everyone gone, it gave me time to focus on the vendetta against the Alpha Pack.
With Kol no longer being my main priority, Boyd's death plagues my thoughts along with knowing Isaac could be their next target. I want vengeance for Boyd and Isaac to be protected, which both bring me to the conclusion that I must kill Deucalion and his pack. Sitting around in my apartment and waiting like everyone else is not going to solve our problems. Someone needs to take charge and that someone is going to have to be me.
Storming out of my apartment, I trek over to the elevator and press the 'PH' button for the penthouse floor with a bit more force than necessary. With the penthouse above me, I could easily hear everything that goes on in there. Deucalion was alone at the moment, which means the one I want dead is safe for now, but that doesn't mean I have to sit back and feel my blood boil with each passing second. All I need is to be invited in, and I am more than positive that Deucalion has this place in his name.
After the sound of a ding, the door ahead of me slides open to reveal a waiting Deucalion. He has his usual sunglasses placed upon his nose and his stick folded between his hands, held in front of his stomach, "You're late."
My eyebrows furrow in confusion at him. With his other senses heightened because of his blindness, I expected him to know I was coming, but I wasn't aware he had me on a tight schedule.
Deucalion suddenly throws out his left arm and the folded metal straightens out, locking in place to turn itself back into a cane. "Don't just stand there, come in before the doors shut," he snips then turns around, disappearing into another room.
Looking down, I slowly lift my right foot to check my theory on Deucalion being the owner of this penthouse. Once it lands over the line and into the apartment, I exit the elevator and follow in Deucalion's footsteps.
The place is neat and fully decorated with antiques. I didn't anticipate the place to be a dump, but for the interior design to be fully thought out and clean emphasized that they planned on staying for a while. My main concern now is when do they plan to leave?
Walking into the large room, Deucalion is already seated on a single couch waiting for me to enter. His cane folded once again and placed on his lap as he looks straight ahead. The room is large enough for a fight if it comes down to it.
"You've been expecting me?" I question, standing in the doorway with an arched eyebrow and crossed arms.
"I have," he answers calmly. "Didn't you get my message?"
I step further into the room, "What message?" I don't recall a note being brought to my door within the past couple of days. And what could he possibly want to discuss with me? I understand my reasoning for being here, but what reasoning could he have for wanting me here?
