While Peter, Derek, Stiles, and Scott occupied the downstairs area to go over their rescue mission, Isaac and I stayed upstairs laying in bed together. We had no reason to be with the rest of the group because Isaac can't do anything extreme while being out of commission and I wasn't going to leave him alone with Peter still in the building. He resembles Niklaus too much and everyone is aware Niklaus always has something up his sleeve. Peter qualifies for that trait as well.
Isaac pulled me closer to him, "This isn't so bad." He had his arms wrapped around my half-naked body as I rested my head on his bare chest.
His words confused me. He could be implying to anything with all of the course of actions we have been through in the past twenty-four hours. "What isn't?"
"Bed rest. I have a beautiful girl in my arms," lifting the covers, he looks inside and smirks. "Half-naked."
I laugh. His confidence has escalated these past few months and it's captivating. There are moments when it's over the top, but moments like this make him intriguing. Besides, he has no reason to ever feel insecure or uncertain about anything. Not with me around.
"So, uh, have you found anything with your brother yet?" he asks awkwardly with a bit of hesitation. His eyes were no longer on me, but on his fidgeting fingers that laid on my upward hip.
I haven't been talking to anyone about my brother, with the exception of Deaton, lately. I've been doing most of it alone with trying to find a way to resurrect him. Isaac brings him up every so often, but I always opt for changing the subject. It's not that I'm uncomfortable with talking about him to Isaac, because I've done it before. I just don't want to talk about how I am failing my brother. Talking about him is too hard for me right now and the fact that his plan to stay alive didn't prevail worries me that I won't be able to find a way myself.
Deaton has been an enormous succor with the information he has given me thus far, but Deaton is the only one I believe that can help. Asking Isaac for assistance would be too much to ask. He doesn't know my brother, so he shouldn't have to bear the burden because of me. This is already increasingly onerous for me as it is and there should be no reason to bring him into it.
With Deaton being an emissary, he is the most promising help I have. I came to him seeking assistance with all of this. I trust that Deaton can bear this since this is what he lives for. Even if he is only supposed to help werewolves, he didn't turn me away as long as I agreed to keep the town safe from vampires. Myself included.
Before I could attempt to change the subject, yelling from downstairs caught our attention and did the work for me, "Scott!" Throwing the blanket from my body and onto the ground, I grab one of Isaac's tee shirts that almost reach my knees and run down the spiral of stairs, stopping at the last three steps. Standing in the middle of the room was Peter and Stiles, Scott nowhere in sight.
Staring at the two I ask, "What the hell is going on?"
Peter sighs, "Derek and Scott just walked into a hungry lion's den."
"Meaning?"
"Boyd and the other girl," Stiles spoke warily. "They're going to kill them."
"Unless Derek and Scott kill them first," Peter adds.
"But they're stronger tonight. They haven't felt a full moon in months," Stiles rushes out with his arms flailing around in a panicking manner.
Isaac spoke up from behind me, "Then we need to help them."
After running back upstairs to grab some clothes that I could move easily in, I changed along with Isaac in silence. I wasn't sure if I should say anything because of the question from earlier, but luckily I didn't have to because just as I had finished tying my shoes, my phone went off. Looking at the caller I.D., I saw it was Scott trying to get in touch with me, "Scott?"
