When Allison was unable to reach her father, she took it upon herself to explain that he had requested twenty-four hours to attempt to figure out what had attacked Isaac the other night and that they may have been after her father instead. However, without much information for her to give, we had decided to search for her father ourselves and hear his side of the story. We wanted to understand why he believed Japanese spirits are after him. If he had thought they were here for him, then he has to have answers about what they are and want.
Allison, Isaac, Scott, and I regrouped at the Argent's apartment after leaving Derek's, and once the elevator doors had slid open, the smell of blood engulfed my nostrils. I knew it wasn't from my apartment because I had compelled someone to clean it. But it was nearby and seemed to be coming from behind their door. And my theory had been confirmed when we stepped through the Argents threshold.
When Allison opened the door, her father had been knocked out, laying on the hardwood floor with a head injury. Allison had immediately taken action and ran to her fathers' side in worry of him. I, on the other hand, couldn't care less what happens to him. I should have been the one to give him that injury after all. And I made my thoughts clear to him when I followed behind the group to his office chair for Allison to aid him. I'm simply here to learn more about these creatures and that is all. All I need is for him to tell us what he knows so we can eliminate the threat and then I can go back to how things were before these demons had shown up. The only reason I'm still in the facility of these people is that I need to use them to place the pieces together. There has to be a reason these Japanese spirits are here, and I intend to find out. Even if it means working with the McCall Pack.
"His eyes were glowing," Scott frowns after listening to Chris elucidate his own experience with the demonic ninjas from years ago. Not that he has much information to tell.
I have not mentioned to the pack about what, very little, knowledge I hold on their titles. Whatever I have to say won't be relevant to them. Nor do I care to help them figure anything out. Only myself.
"There was something almost ritualistic about it," Chris answers as Allison continues to disinfect his wounds. "Like it was looking right into his soul."
"That's the same thing it did to me," Isaac chimes in, confirming their ritualistic actions. I wasn't around for when his attack happened to him, but I had seen them endeavor to overcome one of the twins while back at Derek's loft. And that's exactly how I would describe the action. It was similar to how my compulsion works; they go into a trance-like state when gazing into my eyes.
"That's what they did to everyone," Allison corrects him whistle wiping at her fathers' temple.
"Not everyone," I tell her. I hadn't been touched by any of them, nor had Scott or even Allison. However, by their pattern of victims, they seem to be only after anyone connected to the supernatural, and Allison does not fit that category.
Scott scoots closer to the office desk he and I sit in front of, "They only came after the werewolves."
"And Lydia," Allison adds.
"Anyone with a connection to the supernatural," Chris informs us, confirming my prediction. But what could they want with the supernatural creatures of Beacon Hills? Why did the Nemeton attract them here?
"Then who was the guy they went after in Japan?" Isaac questions Chris, bringing the conversation back to his trip to Japan when he had a run-in with the demon ninjas.
"A kumicho," he answers staring into oblivion as he recalls his memory vividly. "A yakuza boss. It was my first gun deal. I was only eighteen and it was supposed to be a simple exchange. Except Gerard left out the minor detail of the buyers being yakuza. He wanted to see if I could adapt in the moment. Testing my ability to improvise."
