Silence fills the car as Isaac drives us to the school's campus. I know he itches to say something, though, because, now and then he would send a few side glances my way. I know the reason he keeps staring at me is that he wants to know the answer to his unasked question, but that question will continue to be unanswered. The last thing I need is everyone's attention on me when I have reasons to stay in the backends of their mind. For weeks they have been watching the four of us. Now that they believe all my side effects have diminished like the others. And in ways they, but I know the truth and I know my intentions. I can continue on with my usual self. Like a Trojan horse in plain sight.
So far with it being one day of saving Malia, I have had no complications with nightmares or voices. My brother is no longer trying to haunt me through my dreams. The word 'chaos' hasn't been repeated inside my head. Everything is finally perfect. Well, almost perfect.
Whipping into a parking spot, he places the stick shift in park, the gears grinding as he does so, and turns the engine off. I did not want to come to school, but I also didn't have much else to do. Besides, I need to keep up this good girl persona.
Stepping out of the vehicle, I close my door and look over at the bus lot area at the sound of commotion to find Scott standing with the infamous identical twins; Aiden and Ethan. What are they even doing here? I thought they fled town and went into hiding or something after Jennifer had snapped their necks.
"Isaac," I call out to the other side of the car. "Look." I recall Isaac having a bit of a feud with them. Not that I blame him. They did help kill Erica and Boyd who happened to be some of the only people Isaac had left to call 'family'. I wouldn't necessarily call them that, though. Erica was a bitch and Boyd was, well, quite boring. Erica had more spunk in her with her animalistic emotions and Boyd rarely tapped into his unless he was angered, which was fairly little. But he was fun when that boiling rage surfaced. Isaac, too.
"You need a pack," One of the twins, I believe to be Aiden, reasons with Scott. "We need an Alpha."
"Yeah," Stiles jumps in before Scott can comment on the matter. "Absolutely not. That's hilarious, though."
"Come on," Isaac says grabbing my hand and marching us over to their small group. This should be interesting.
I look up at him, "What are you going to do?"
"I don't know," he answers flexing his jaw out of anger.
He's getting really worked up about them being here. I know he loathes them, but I never anticipated that he would become murderous at the sight of them. Maybe the old Isaac who was brand new to the supernatural and following orders from Derek would show this sort of rage. But not this Issac. The Isaac who backs down and has become softer and began to understand the meaning of 'friendship'.
"We'd add strength," I listen to Aiden continuing to try and persuade Scott. "We'd make you more powerful. There's no reason to say no."
"I can think of one," Isaac chimes in once we reach the huddle they'd formed. "Like the two of you holding Derek's claws while Kali impaled Boyd."
Isaac gives them a smoldering look and releases my hand to fold his arms, which in my opinion, made them look bigger.
Isaac needs to find a way to move on from this pent-up anger he has towards them because of these deaths. There is nothing he can do about them now. If he wants to kill the twins as some vendetta, then so be it. Just get it over with because holding this grudge is ridiculous.
"In fact," Isaac adds turning to Scott a little. "I don't know why we're not impaling them right now."
Aiden growls out of anger, flashing his teeth and his eyes glow blue as he stares down Isaac, "You want to try?"
