Metal clanking jolts me awake. A bright light blinds me, I go to shield my eyes but my arms won't move. I look down to see that I am strapped down on a metal operating table. The top of my nose is cold, much like the air. A laugh echoes through the room. Jennifer appears.
"Hello sweetie. Have a nice nap?" She says sickly caring, I struggle against the restraints. "Well, too bad. Cause when we're done with you, you'll never nap again."
She reveals a syringe, filled with bright blue liquid. The kind the mad doctor used to give me. I suddenly begin to fight against my restraints. It can't end like this! Not since I just got a home and a family. Since I found Steve. I'm sure Pepper has informed SHIELD that I've been kidnapped, but the Avengers may not know I'm missing. Steve may be off somewhere in some other country thinking I'm safe at home in my bedroom watching the Notebook. He may not know that I'm in danger.
"Please don't do this!" I say in a raspy voice.
"What? You don't want to be powerful? You think the Avengers got their powers by birth? Ha!" Jennifer cackles, "Maybe the god. What's his name? Thor?"
I fight even harder against the restraints, squealing as she puts the needle in my neck. I can feel the liquid going into my veins and it surging through the different blood vessels. Tears fall from my cheeks.
"I'm surprised you haven't screwed one of them. I would have." She chuckles, watching me squirm. "Or have you? Daddy's little girl isn't as innocent as she appears to be, is she? Let me guess who."
"Go to hell, bitch." I manage to squeak out, the blue liquid burning my blood vessels now.
I can feel a scream coming on, it's in the very back of my throat.
"Was it the big, green hulk?" Jennifer taught's me, "Was it the mighty Thor?"
I can feel something happening inside of me. It pulses through my veins and my body suddenly feels like I'm on flames. I let out a small wail.
"Was it that arrow guy?" Jennifer says through my screams, "Or did you realize you were attracted to the same sex? To-what's her name again? The spider woman?"
My heart races as the pain comes over my body, a tolerable pain. I can feel a slight quaking in my veins.
"Now, who am I forget-Oh! How could I possibly forget?" She brushes a strand of hair out of my face, leaning into my ear. "Or was it Captain America? The man out of time?"
I try to grab her through the restraints, almost getting a hold of her hair. She jumps back, cackling at me with her eyes full of lunacy. She puts a hand on her chest as she finishes out her cackle. I try to concentrate on the quaking in my veins, letting Jennifer's taughting be my fuel.
"So," Jennifer smiles "Captain America, huh? Wow, does daddy know you're dating such an older man? A man whose older than him?"
I don't answer her, I focus on the quaking in my veins. The metal table begins to squeak and it slightly rolls. Jennifer grasp the table and gives me an arched brow before going back to her taunting.
"How did it feel, Addison? How did it feel as he told you he loved you for the first time?" She smirks, "It was probably either before or after sex, right? Why is it that men fall in love under the belt?"
The metal table begins shaking again, harder. Jennifer looks under the table to see if anything could be causing the table to move. The quaking is now vibrating throughout my body, making me restless. I need to get out of here. I need to get out of here and get to SHIELD, before I hurt somebody. Jennifer glares at me.
"Your man in blue can't help you, Addison. He'll never find you in time." Jennifer says annoyed, "So give it up."
I'm done wishing for someone to come save me, it didn't work last time and I had to escape myself. I'm going to have to do as Jennifer says and play along with her torture. But I have a plan and it's risky. Jennifer looks at me over her shoulder as she fiddles with the needles and serums.
My eyes stare straight up at the ceiling, my mouth slacked. I stare into an empty abyss, trying to remember what my mother had looked like. She had red hair and hazel eyes. The way she used to braid my hair and tell me stories, pinning my clothes up on a clothes line because we couldn't afford a proper dryer. We also couldn't afford gas a lot of times and we would walk in the heavy snow in the winter.
"Addison?" Jennifer says, "Addison, are you alright?"
She walks over to me, cautious. I don't even move a muscle. She puts a hand on my forehead. She suddenly grabs my face, pulling it upward. I look at her dazed, lazily blinking at her. She pushes me back, smirking.
"The last serum drugged you." Jennifer says with sneer, "Works for me."
I continue to stare up at the ceiling, acting as a mental patient in an Insane Asylum on the hard stuff. The stuff that makes turns your brain to mush. As I do this, I plan my escape.
