Chapter 16: So Why Did You?

(Reader's P.O.V.)

Since Steve had punched the bags until he left a hole in the ceiling, he has to use a rubber dummy. It's harder than the bag but it's what Tony has.
"Rogers!" Tony's voice echoes through the training room.
Steve looks over to see Tony walking over towards him. He looks up at the hole in the ceiling and looks back at Tony.
"Tony?" Steve says confused.
"Can you say that you and Addison has spent quite a bit of time together?" Tony says, making Steve's heart pound.
"I guess so, yeah. Why?"
"Has she mentions about wanting to go anywhere in New York? I'm trying to find something for us to do. I want to surprise her." Tony says, "Something we can do together."
Steve thinks for a moment. "She said she wanted to go the zoo and she wants to go to the Butterfly habitat. She wants to see the rare Palos Verdes blue."
"She likes those butterflies, doesn't she?" Tony says.
"Ask her why she likes them, it may just break your heart." Steve says, "She also wants to go to Coney Island."
"Oh, well that can be arranged." Tony nods his head, "Pepper said that I need to ask Addison questions and form a healthy relationship with Addison."
"Tony, she needs that kind of relationship. She's only ever had her mother and when she died, she had volunteered to help with scientific testing with Doctor Heisenberg." Steve says, "Addison has mentioned a time or two that she was strapped down for days at a time and they wouldn't let her go outside."
Tony winces. "Their trying to give Heisenberg a life sentence."
"The bastard needs worst than just life in prison." Steve says gruffly, "He got off too easy."
"I know I can't make up the 21 years I wasted trying to hide from her, but I just want to make things better." Tony looks down at his shoes.
"So why did you?" Steve says, Tony looks up at him. "Hide from Rachael and Addison?"
"Rachael and I were in a mechanic class in College. I was just a rich genius's kid and she was from the Trailer Parks up in Canada. She was 12 years older than me." Tony stares off into the abyss, recalling Rachael. "She was very beautiful and very smart. But god, we hated each other. We fooled around for a little bit, we might have turned into something but one day I got a call from Rachael. She told me she was pregnant and that her Visa was expired. I let her go, Rogers. I made a huge mistake and now Addison is suffering because of that."
Just as Tony finishes his backstory, Addison comes running into the training room dragging Bruce behind her. Both Tony and Steve smile at her excited expression, and Bruce's fearful one. She stops in front of them, out of breath.
"Bruce sai-said that Coney Island is open until 1:20." Addison says with wide hazel eyes, excitement. "I say we all go! Steve, are you up for Coney Island? I know it's not like the time you mad your friend Bucky went but-"
"I would love to." Steve smiles
"Tony?" Addison says
"I'll have to look at my schedu-"
"I've already checked it and you're free for the rest of the day." Pepper walks up, a smile on her face. "Jarvis notified everyone who was going the meeting."
"Whose Jarvis?" Addison says.
"Good evening, Mr. Stark." Jarvis's voice rings throughout the air.
Addison jumps and looks around. "Who in the hell said that?!"
"That's Jarvis. The computer generated Butler." Tony says, "He's 10x's smarter than your average MacBook."
"So, is he like Siri?" Addison says with a smile.
"No, Siri isn't as smart as Jarvis. Jarvis is our first unit of defense." Tony says
"Cool. Weird, but cool." Addison turns to Steve, "Rogers, go get your swim trunks. We're going swimming!"
And with that, Addison runs out of the room. Bruce rubs his wrist, looking at the others.
"Teenage girls have too much energy." Bruce says with smirk.
"She's 21, shes not a teenager." Steve corrects him.
"But mentally, she's still a teenager." Bruce says, "This morning, she made me watch Beauty and the Beast."
"Beauty and the what?" Steve looks at Pepper.
"I'm sure Addison will show you everything about Disney and the modern world." Pepper says with a smile, "I have a feeling we'll all be entertained from now on."
