Part 40- Is she ok?

Joe's POV

I was currently waiting in the waiting room. What on earth happened? One minute me and Rachel were kissing, the next she was on the floor, bleeding. It all happened so fast! 

The doctor came out. 

Me, Zoe, Erin and Jack jumped up.

"People for Rachel Sugg?" he asked. 

"That's us!" Erin said.

"How is she?!" I asked, panicking. "When can I see her? When can she come home?!"

The doctor took a deep breath.

"Mr Sugg" he said. "I'm so sorry. It was too late. There was nothing we could do. She didn't make it!"

I fell onto my knees.

"No, no, no, no!" I screamed and sobbed. 

I felt my shoulder being shook in the distance.

"Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe!"

I jolted up.

"Joe!" Zoe said. 

I was in the waiting room, I must have fell asleep. 

Thank god! It was just a dream!

"Where's Rachel?!" I asked, panicking. 

"The doctor will be here soon!" Zoe said. "Then we'll find out!"

I noticed only me and Zoe were here. 

"Erin and Jack have gone for a coffee!" Zoe said, as if she read my mind. 

The doctor walked up to us. 

"Rachel Sugg?!" the doctor asked. 

"Yeah, i'm her husband!" I said, choking up. "Please say she survived. Please! I can't lose her!"

Zoe put her hand on my shoulder. 

"Mr Sugg!" the doctor said. "We managed to get the bullet out easily; it was all in one piece still so it was a quick removal. The surgery went well and she's going to make a strong recovery!"

"Thank you!" I sobbed. 

She's alive! Rachel's alive!

A few hours had passed. Zoe, Alfie, Erin, Jack and I were all in Rachel's room, me sitting next to her bed, holding her hand. She still hasn't woken up yet but we were told she would soon. I remember every single detail that happened.

Flashback:

"You's have joined hands in marriage" the vicar said, smiling. "I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!"

Rachel and I kissed. But as we kissed, everyone gasped.

BANG!

As soon as we heard it, we pulled away. Rachel had a starstruck look on her face. I lifted my hands to see red liquid all over them, blood. I looked down to see Rachel's stomach covered in blood. Rachel looked at me, agonising pain in her eyes. As she fell to the floor, I caught her.

"Rachel!" I screamed. 

Blood was coming out her mouth and I could see she was struggling to breathe. 

I saw someone holding a gun in the corner of my eye; I looked up and was shocked. 

"Miss me?!" Harvey said with a smirk on his face.

I looked back at Rachel to see her eyes were closed. 

"No, no, no, Rachel!" I sobbed. "You need to keep your eyes open!"

As Tanya called the ambulance, I saw police officers running toward us. Harvey tried to make a run for it, but was caught. 

"It was all worth it!" Harvey laughed as he was dragged away. 

I pulled by blazer off and pressed it off Rachel's wound. 

"Rachel please, open your eyes!" I sobbed.

No response.

"Where the hell's the ambulance!" I sobbed. 

"They're a minute away!" Tanya said, sounding panicked whilst still on the phone to them. 

I checked Rachel's pulse. 

"She's barely breathing!" I sobbed. 

The ambulance arrived and we raced to the hospital.

As soon as we got there, Rachel was taken straight into surgery, leaving me a sobbing mess.

End of flashback

I was brought out my thoughts with my hand being squeezed, following a groaning noise. 

It was Rachel. 

She was waking up!
