Hope is brightest when it dawns from fear
Two weeks had past since Essence was released from the hospital, she's been staying at August house since. She hadn't been going to school, she's been smoking more.
Taking more pills, more nightmares. Whenever she had the nightmares August called one of the girls over to help him deal with it.
This was a whole new Essence, a side of her that none of them had ever seen. Although she was going through it, she smiled ; A fake smile.
Keith hasn't visited Essence since she got out of the hospital, only because he couldn't see her in the state she was. If he did he'd only get angry and do something he'd regret, something might have him in jail for murder.
August just wanted to make sure she was alright before he even thought about attacking anybody. He was just as furious as Keith was , but he had to be strong for Essence.
Essence sat on a bed, that wasn't hers , smoking a blunt. August walked in the room with the girls and scrunched his face up before knocking the blunt out of her hand.
"Didn' I tell you ta stop fuckin smoking Essence?!"
Essence stood up and pushed him a little. "Why can't I smoke? You do it all the time"
"BECAUSE IM FUCKING GROWN, and you smoking to much"
"Leave me the fuck alone August, I ain't a child no mo, and you damn showl not my daddy"
"Essence don't talk to your brother like that he only trying to-"
Essence cut Treasure off, scoffing. "Bitch shut the fuck up, you been fucking him behind my back anyway"
"Essence were only trying to help you , you gotta meet us half away, this rudeness gotta stop hoe" Hennessy says and Seandrea nodded in agreement.
Essence chuckled once more. "No I don't need y'all fuckin help, how you gone help me when you can't help yo damn self? You staying with Myles knowing you ain't over Julio , and you letting a nigga beat the fuck out you , y'all are the last people I want help from"
"Essence you do need us at a time like this" Yasmeen say softly.
"Fuck I don't , I don't need none of y'all , might of fact I'm leaving, fuck y'all and don't y'all ever fucking talk ta me again" Essence says getting up and putting on her shoes.
"Essence-" Treasure started, but August cut her off. "Let her go, she'll be back"
This wasn't her first time doing this. She always did this , then came back to them, but this is were they were wrong. She wasn't comin back this time.
Essence gave them a wicked smile before walking out of the room.

Essence took a deep breath before knocking on her mother's door. She knew she as stupid for coming back here but she had nowhere else to go.
And by the cars in the drive way Essence knew she had company , she wouldn't hit her daughter in front of company . Would she ? .
The door opened revealing her Auntie , they were only related by her marrying Essence Uncle, the one who raped her.
"Hi Essence , aww look at you , all grown up and stuff you look amazing" Nicole says smiling. Essence scoffed.
"What are you doing here?"
"Oh your mom wanted to have a family reunion, so the whole family here"
