Home Again

The morning was filled with silent chaos as the Yuki families tried to leave the hotel without disturbing the other visitors and guest from the wedding. Momone kept drifting asleep and so to keep her up, Aunt Nene would get her hand wet then splash the water onto her face. Momone would scream every time and be shushed every time. "Stop doing that," she said

"Stop falling asleep," said Aunt Nene

After a cab drive to the airport, it was a nice restful flight back to the Yuki (B) house. They were only back for a moment before Mr. and Mrs. Yuki began packing up the car and their children then started saying their goodbyes.

"Will you forget us?" Momone asked as she hugged Subaru and Kanata's legs. "What if you get Karen mixed up with ... with ... the other girl, or Aine with that other girl?"

"We won't," said Subaru "There's only one you and one of them,"

"Let me say goodbye please," said Aine. Momone stepped to the side and Aine had manged to hug her cousins in one big hug full of love and sorrow. "We'll really miss you," she said

"You too," said Kanata "But we'll come back next year,"

"Yeah!" said Suzune "Next year we'll have a Yuki family vacation,"

"Family," said Yoshi, putting one hand on his cousins. Aunt Nene let out a gasp as tears filled her eyes.

"Isn't that the sweetest thing you've ever seen?" she said "Oh, get in these arms you too!" Aunt Nene hugged Subaru then Kanata. They smiled at each other.

"See you next time guys," said Kazune

"Yeah," said Mirai "And tell Henry and Shelly we said thanks for the shells,"

"We will," said Kanata

"Come on boys," said Mr. Yuki , who had already said his goodbyes "Time to say goodbye,"

"Okay. Bye!" Subaru and Kanata waved as they got into the car then drove off.

After a long ride back to Aikatsu Street, Subaru and Kanata were finally home.

"Take these bags inside," Mr. Yuki commanded his sons as he handed them each one suit case and a bag. "And be quite, remember, everyone is still asleep,"

"We know Dad," said Kanata

With a quick spin on the heel, Subaru and Kanata followed their mother (who was carrying a much larger bag and suit case) opened the door then turned on the lights to their house.

It was like they had never left, Kanata and Subaru piled their bags in the living room and looked around like they had only been gone for a few hours. But it also felt like days.

"Hey, can I check something out outside for a minute?" Subaru asked

"What is it?" Mrs. Yuki asked

"Just ... something," Mrs. Yuki raised an eye brow then nodded.

"Alright, but don't be gone too long,"

Subaru smiled then dashed up to his room (which was still a mess), he opened his drawers and took out a flashlight. He went out the back, went over the next three houses and flashed his light through one of the windows. After a moment, the windows swung open and a smiling face looked down on him. "You're back!" Yume said in a loud whisper, just loud enough for him to hear.

"Yeah! Can I come up?" he asked

"Sure!"

Subaru started to climb the tree that reached up to Yume's window. Once inside, Yume wrapped her arms around him tightly. "We missed you," she said

Subaru blinked then smiled and put his arms around her "Same - I mean - we missed you," They broke away and for a few moments and just starred and smiled at each other for a while.

"So," Yume said finally "How was your summer? Did you see any sharks?"

"No. But it was still awesome!" Subaru exclaimed "We have a few friends on the island now, Maori and Waffles,"

"Waffles?"

"She's a monkey!"

"Oh, is Maori a monkey too?" Yume asked with a laugh

"No, perfectly human (more or less)" he said "She was like an honorary sister,"

"Aw cute,"

"Yeah. But enough about our summer, what about you? What happened while we were gone? Anything interesting?" Yume smiled then frowned. Subaru frowned "What happened?"

"Um ... well nothing, yet," said Yume

"Yume, what are you talking about?" Subaru asked

"It's Kirara," she said "She's moving,"

"What?!"

"Well her parents were thinking about it. But now they decided that they had to,"

Subaru was in shock, he and Kirara weren't exactly the best of buds, but they had been neighbors almost as long as he could remember. Nothing had changed about Aikatsu Street's residence since the Arisugawa Triplets moved in, and that was years ago!

Then he remembered ...

"How is Ako taking this?" he asked, knowing the two were great friends

"She's being very ... Ako about it," Yume told him "But we know she's upset,"

"Typical," he mumbled "Well -" Subaru stopped. The door was being opened.

"Yume, what is going -" It was Hime, when she saw Subaru and Yume she let out a gasp. But as her eyes adjusted and she could properly see what was there, she broke into a smile. "Subaru!" Hime ran over to him and they hugged "Great to see you again,"

"Great to see you too Hime," he said

"But what are you doing here?" she asked "I mean, in Yume's room?"

"Saying hello,"

"Ah, yes," Hime said with a grin "So, you had a great summer?"

"Incredible!"
