Philip Hamilton's POV

I listen to Mr. Burr explain everything over the phone, informing me of certain things to do and not to do. He explained triggers, he explained the story behind her illness, he explained her childhood and her hobbies.

As I hung up, I heard Theo saying some nonsense:

A/N: "(( ))" represents what Theo is hearing, Philip can't hear it.

((Did you actually make a friend?))

"If you're talking about Pip, then yes."

... ((How do you know he isn't using you?))

"Pip wouldn't use me,"

... ((You don't know that))

"Yes, I do."

... ((Do you feel anything for him?))

"What? No, I don't think so."

... ((Ah, you said you don't think. That means you don't know.))

"What do you want?"

... ((He could die the same way your mother did.))

"DON'T BRING MY MOTHER INTO THIS!"

I stood up, sitting by Theo to see tears well in her eyes. Who was she talking to? She was just staring at the floor, talking. I felt her jerk,

((Be careful with that one. Do you really trust him?))

"Of course! He's my friend...."

... ((You gullible idiot.))

Was she talking about me?

"I'm not an idiot, you're the disembodied voice!"

... ((That doesn't mean I can't be intelligent.))

"Just shut up!"

She relaxed a bit, snapping out of her trance. "Theo, are you alright?" She just nodded. I looked down her body, remembering that I needed to feed her. She was so thin. "So Theo, I'm going to go downstairs and cook some food. I need to get you eating some more, alright?" I explained. She nodded once again.

I flashed a smile before standing up and making my way to the door. I heard a small voice from behind me, "Pip?" I turned around, humming a "Mhm?" Theo just shook her head, "N-Never mind. I'll be down in a bit." I smiled at the fact that she was talking a bit more. She smiled back.

I walked down the stairs, looking in her fridge to see what she had that I could cook. It wasn't much, but I could manage. Right after I finished cooking, I heard Theo scream, "I told you, SHUT. UP!"

I placed down the stuff I was holding, sprinting to her. "Theodosia, are you okay?" I questioned, concerned. She embraced me, burying her face in my chest. I wrapped my arms around her, trying to comfort her. I played with her hair a bit, finding it fascinating. As she pulled away, I took her hand, leading her to the dinner table.

I walked back to grab the food, arranging it on a plate and placing it in front of her. For a bit, she kind of just sat and stared at it, yet I needed her to eat. I spoke, "Theo, you can eat." Following my commands, she took a small bite. I took a bite of my food as well and we ate in silence.

She and I finished our food nearly at the same time. "Thanks," she mumbled, earning a smile out of me. I took her plate, rinsing it off in the sink along with mine. Once again, I heard her small voice mumble from behind me.

"Hey, Pip?" she asked, catching my attention. I turned to look at her, "Yeah?" She stuttered, "Am I w-weird?" I frowned, drying my hands and walking over to her. "Theo, you aren't weird, you're unique," I assured her. She engulfed me in a small hug and I attempted to comfort her, once again.

I walked her over to the living room as I sat down on the couch. She followed my actions. "B-But everyone says I'm a freak," she added. I just shook my head, "Listen to me, Theodosia. You are beautiful, you're smart, you're talented, and you are so much more mature than the others at school. They have no idea what you've been through, so they have no regret in hurting you. They aren't worth your time, you should know this."

I felt her wrap her arms around me again. It's like she couldn't stay away. She never had anyone to be there for her ever since she came to this school. I ran my fingers through her hair and she managed to drift to sleep. I really wish I could understand everything she was going through.

Whenever I say I understand, I really don't. I just don't want her to feel alone. After just the first day, Theo has warmed up to me. She acts normal around me. She doesn't act like she's completely empty. When she came down the stairs a few minutes ago, her eyes were different. They weren't only gray.

It was faint, yet I could tell that there was a glint of life in her eyes. Just one speck of liveliness that anyone would notice. She was smart, independent, and unlike anyone I had ever met before. I sighed, picking up Theo.

She was definitely anorexic, as she was very light for her age. I carried the sleeping girl up to her bedroom, setting her down on the bed and pulling the sheet over her. As I turned to leave, I felt her grab my arm.

I heard Theo's soft, sleepy voice, "Can you stay?"  I faced her, hesitating before nodding a bit.  I laid beside her, feeling her wrap her arms around my torso.  This wasn't weird at all.  Hint the sarcasm.

The next morning when I woke up, I noticed that I was still in the smaller girl's grip.  I tried to get up without waking Theo up.  I succeeded at first, but then tripped over about a million things, waking her up.  By things, I mean I tripped over my own feet.  When did I become a klutz?

Theo sat up, rubbing her eyes and looking at me.  "Oh, hey, Pip." she greeted sleepily. I smiled, "Good morning. Sorry for waking you," She shook her head, "It's okay, Pip." I helped Theo wake up and we both got ready for the day.

We both walked to school side by side once again, people murmuring and staring at us. I dropped Theodosia off at her classroom, then traveling to my own. After an hour, the bell rang, dismissing the class. As I exited the classroom, I felt someone tap my shoulder.

I turned to see a girl. She had curly, dirty blonde hair that was neatly trimmed at her lower back. She wore a tight t-shirt and a loose jacket that hung off one of her shoulders.

"Hey. Philip Hamilton, right?"
