Chapter 4
It was around mid day that following week that I was woken once again from my slumber in front of the fire place. I lifted my head from my paws and stared at the girl who stood in the doorway looking shocked at the sight of me. I guess no one spread the word that I was this small or that I stayed wolf most of my slumber.
"Damn, you really are a small shifter." The girl whispered before shaking her head and fixing a glare on her face which I found amusing, because it really didn't suit her at all. She had the same platinum blonde locks around her small face, that Belle had, and her eyes were a striking dark blue that I'd only seen on Adrian before so I had to assume she was their daughter. By the look of her, she seemed to be the same age as me but even so, she didn't seem impressed to be in my presence. "Stop staring at me and get to your feet. I have to show you around the training grounds today so you could get familiar with your surroundings." She snapped and I felt the amusement vanish and the cold aura slip up around me once more before lowering my head in submission and dragging myself to the bathroom. Luckily I still had an oversized jean and shirt in there to wear today and once I was dressed, I brushed my teeth and threw my hair up into a limp pony tail. Once I felt like me again, I walked out of the bathroom to find the girl standing in front of one of my family photo's I'd manage to get before I had to make a run for it a week ago. The thoughtful look on her face, made a curiosity settle in my head but instead of disrupting her study of the photo, I moved to the fridge to grab myself a small box of chocolate milk. "You look like you were a beautiful girl once." I jumped when I heard the girl speak up and looked at her expecting a mocking smirk, the kind I'd expect from anyone in the pack, but instead she looked a little sorrowful as she took in my thin and drained appearance and the hard shell I'd put up around me. "Were you that close to your father?"
"My father was my life." I stated matter-of-factly before turning back to the fridge and taking out another bottle of chocolate milk and threw it at her. She looked startled at the gesture, probably because I didn't smile or show any sign of kindness.
"If your father was your life, then what would that make your mother?" She asked and looked like she was judging me for not saying that both my parents were my life. She's probably her mother's girl if I could take the hint.
"My mother was the one who kept us together. I don't expect you to understand but my father was a lot more present in my life than my mother was but that doesn't mean I didn't love her. She worked a lot in order to support my father and me with our hobbies. My father also got a good income but we used it on the car you see standing outside." With that said I walked over to the door and pulled it open and saw the outside of the cabin for the first time in a week. Belle had warned me that it would not be safe for me to go outside unless I had someone with me that I could trust so I guess Belle decided to send her daughter. "So, are you going to show me around or discuss my personal life?" I said in a hushed whisper and I heard a sigh before she pushed past me and I followed behind. It was a good three miles before we walked out of the woods and into a large clearing that had something of a track around the edge of the woods surrounding it and then different training equipment set up all around. There was a group of around thirty men currently training on the grounds and I was able to see a group of around fifteen girls and women of our age and up stretching on the other side of the clearing. The girl named Tiffany was one of them and she seemed to do everything in her might to attract every male's attention as she stretched over to touch the ground between her feet. I felt a little sick at the sight of her privates practically flashing past the barely-there short she was trying and failing to rock. A snort from my side drew my attention to the girl I still didn't have a name for; she looked just as disgusted as I felt while her eyes practically set fire to Tiffany even from this distance.
