Chapter 18
Jake turned out to be a pitch black pup, just like me. Though, he had a small white spot and the very tip of his tail. It was something I saw as I was inspecting him while he rested. He was the smallest pup there ever was, but everyone could still tell that he would be strong once he was old enough.
Michael was busy telling his son about everything about being a future alpha. Jake was excited to discover that he was the youngest shifter in history. It was unknown of, just like it was unknown of for anyone to go through their first shift at the age of seventeen.
It seemed like everything that was supposed to be impossible was starting to become possible.
I followed Seth into the library after he'd found me on the training grounds.
Everyone had been sending me glares all day long, so I was relieved to know that I had a genuine reason to escape them. I'll probably never really understand all the hate I was receiving but I was starting to accept it as a part of my life.
Though, the vampires in the house seemed to respect me more than ever before. It was starting to freak me out until Alison was kind enough to inform me about a meeting they had regarding me. It was held while I was out hunting. All the vampires are now fully being me and the moment I leave for good, is also the moment their support would disappear for good.
Sighing, I dropped down into a chair across from Seth with a thick old book settled between us.
"So, what's this about?" I whispered, rubbing at my throbbing head.
Last night was exhausting, even though I slept through most of it.
It was confusing that I felt so tired today.
In answer, Seth simply pushed the book over, which read: 'Creatures of the Moon'.
It was eerie reading it and I could almost hear creepy classical musing playing in the background.
When I managed to control my breathing, Seth chuckled and flipped open the book so it was on the first page. Then Seth materialized beside me.
In the beginning I might have probably been startled but I'd grown accustomed to seeing the numerous vamps doing that in the building.
The first thing in the book was a mermaid.
I snorted softly.
"Right, now I'm supposed to believe there's something out there in the sea that could lure you in and drown you?" I asked with a chuckle.
He shook his head at me.
"Alright, fine, I'll admit some of these creatures are farfetched. This guy was actually just supposed to be an expert on vampires and werewolves. Turns out he knew more than we did. Let's just skip to the page I wanted to show you."
He opened the book at the back before letting his finger rest on the picture of a wolf that looked black and white at the same time.
"This is what they call the Moon Dancer. Most of these 'facts' as he put it, are untrue but what you can find here is a few details that might enlighten you a little."
His finger moved down to the second paragraph that was marked 'Healing'.
"See, according to this paragraph right here, it states that in injured wolf or shifter just needs to be in your presence and you can ensure their healing would start at once. It only works if you're not hostile towards them."
"Meaning, if Zane or Sophie gets injured by me, they're screwed."
He chuckled and turned the page, placing his finger on yet another paragraph.
