It was a couple days of driving with Zyrax. The sun was setting and Gabriella was beginning to become fatigued. She looked over to Zyrax who was looking out the window as they passed through a rural area.

"Can you drive now?" Gabriella asked.

Zyrax didn't look away from the window. "Why?"

"Because I'm tired."

"What if I don't wanna?"

Gabby was beginning to get annoyed. "Can you drive, please?" She said with an attitude.

"Sure, when we refill the tank again."

Gabriella stopped the ice cream truck. "What the hell! We just refilled it 20 minutes ago! Am I'm exhausted! I've been driving, like, all day!"

Zyrax looked at her in shock, in the few days they were in the ice cream truck together, he's never seen this side of her. "Okay, jeez, it was just a prank." Zyrax opened the side door and walked around the truck to the driver's side. "Get out."

Gabriella slowly got out and Zyrax took her place as the driver. When they were settled in again Zyrax started to drive.

"Goodnight." Gabriella said.

"What? You're not going to stay awake with me?" Zyrax asked.

"Nope."

"Then how long am I suppose to drive for?"

"Take out the map."

"It's in the glove compartment in front of you."

Gabriella groaned as she opened the glove compartment and took out the folded map of the United States. She opened it up. "Where are we?"

"Well, if we drove for about 8 hours a day for beaks and pit stops for food from homes, and now your making me drive for most of the night because you're missing your 'squad', I'd say we are somewhere between Tennessee and Kentucky."

Gabriella's eyes widened. "Already?"

"Yeah. I told you we are taking the quickest route to New York."

"How many more hours until we reach New York?"

"I don't know, maybe about 10 more hours."

"10 more hours!" Gabriella seemed excited. "Can you drive all night?"

"What? Hell no!"

"Why not?"

"If I fall asleep on the wheel where gonna crash!"

"Then can you drive as far as you can?"

"If you stay up with me through the whole thing."

"What?"

"If you do, then I might drive the 10 hours."

Gabriella though about this for a minute. "Okay fine."

Zyrax grinned. "Hurray."

After an hour of silence, the sun has set and the moon was rising, it was a half moon. Zyrax turned on the lights of the car so he can navigate easily throughout the night. Then he finally broke the silence. "So, when can turn on to the highway?"

"Why the highway?" Gabriella questioned. "Isn't it like, full of cars, or something?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because the outbreak lasted for a day, no one was expecting it, and no kid knows how to drive. The military couldn't do shit because they all got infected, but there might be some abandoned cars on the road."
