It has been about five months since their final stand in New York City. Many were injured in the battle, most of them suffering from scratches and bites, but they weren't infected.

Being young had its advantage in this sort of apocalypse, as you couldn't get infected if you were ages 14 and under. They called themselves lucky.

A lot has happened since then. They never made it south. The map of highways used by Zyrax was lost. They did know where they were, but it was very cold where they were.

It began to snow as they trudged along a dirt path. The ground was hard, and the snow got in their eyes. They managed to find jackets before winter struck, but it was mighty difficult to find a place to stay.

They were very cautious during their travels. After the battle against the infected at New York City, they ran with those who were unconscious in their arms and some of the supplies. It took almost an hour, but they managed to find a small diner and stayed there for the night, as it was completely free of infected.

It was a flurry outside, but it wasn't too bad, so it was still safe for travel. Finding a car was difficult, because some where run down and their tires were flat. Some couldn't even fit the entire group. They then felt lucky to find a van. The tires weren't flat, the engine was still intact, it had a full tank, and there was enough room to fit everyone in.

Whilst Kevin started to mess with the wiring inside the van, Tyler and Kelly investigates the back of the van. Inside was supplies for maintenance, like certain tools that could be used as weapons, rope, and cleaning supplies.

The van then sprung to life, and Kevin claimed into the driver's seat. Next to him, sat Gabriella with Grace on her lap. The rest stayed in the back of the van,m. Although it was dangerous to stay in the back, Kevin promised he wouldn't drive fast.

It was about twenty minutes until they reached one of those electronic songs, and a dirt path leading into the thick trees. "Hey, What do you think?" Gabriella asked.

"Well, I think it's a school, a college maybe." Kevin responded.

"Should we check it out? We are low on supplies." Gabriella said.

Kevin shook his head. "No, too risky. It could be flooded with infected, the most dangerous kind." What he was talking about was the possibility of encountering teenagers. They were fast, strong, and smart. He's even seen them at work, they managed to corner their pray and were able to tear them apart within seconds.

"Okay, fine, how about we drive up to it, and if we see anything weird, we can leave." Gabriella suggested.

"Why do you want to take this risk so badly, you know what could happen."

"Yes, I know, and you know that we're are running low on supplies! We only have enough for what, like a couple of day left?"

"What, we are running out of food?" Grace asked, looking scared.

Kevin looked at Grace, he hated seeing her upset, especially since she was fairly young and had only them to protect her from infected. Kevin took a deep breath, and though about this. "Okay, fine. Only a few of us will go, though."

"Why not all of us?" Gabriella asked.

"Because if everyone goes, there is a greater chance that some of us will end up dying."

"Common, we need everyone to help!"

Kevin then came to a realization. "Wait, didn't the outbreak start in the summer?"
