Takes place before Tyler discovered the remains of his friends.
"Holy shit! They killed Emily!" Mike exclaimed as he and the group continued to run.
Kevin had a blank look on his face. He witnessed the death of someone he was close to. He wished that he could've done something, but the event that took place was something he was unaware of what was to take place. He tried to forget the way she looked when the arrow went through her head, and her expression. He gritted his teeth and held back his tears.
"Hey, don't give up know!" Braden shouted at him, still in his arms. "This May sound gay but don't fucking drop me, you have to keep going!"
Kevin knew Braden was right, he had to keep going. There was still people in the group he has to be there for. The have all lost somebody.
"Where are we going to go?" Kelly asked.
"Somewhere far away from this place!" Mike responded.
The group continued to run for a bit more until they couldn't here the hoard of grownups and the screams of the large group of girls. The did continue to move forward, though.
"We need to do something about Braden." Kelly said.
"Yeah, no shit. I mean, look at my leg!" Braden stated.
"Yeah, but we have nothing to help him with." Mike said.
Kevin didn't say anything. He just continued to move forward like the rest of the group. Kelly started to walk next to him and put her hand on his shoulder. "Kevin," she started. "When we find a place to stay for the night I need to talk to you."
Kevin only glanced over to her, and nodded. It took a while, but they finally settled on a house without any broken windows or busted door. There was also no car in the driveway or in front of the house, but the group still knew that there was a chance a grownup would be inside the house. Kevin took out two bobby pins and started to pick the lock. He slowly opened the door and put his hand out, finally saying something. "I'll go ahead, you guys keep an eye on my sister and Braden."
Mike and Kelly nodded in response. "Be careful, man." Braden said.
Kevin nodded to Braden and slowly and silently walked inside. He tried shoving the memory, still fresh in his mind, about Emily. He tried to forget about her when they are running, but it was hard to since he felt so close to her. He shook his head. He knew he had to stay strong for his group, that's why he decided to go inside the house alone, to test his strength, his mental strength. He took out both of his daggers and hit one on to a wall, tapping lightly. The was no response.
Kevin's heart rate dramatically increased as the floorboards creaked under his feet, slowly moving towards the staircase. He looked up, but the stairs turned to the left, so he was unable to see if it was blocked at the top. He took a deep breath and slowly walked up the stairs. He breathed a sigh of relief when he found out nothing was blocking the way up. Then, he froze. A loud CRASH was heard in the second floor. His heart wanted to break through his rib cage, petrified with fear. The loud noise surprised, as he thought there was no one in the house.
He slowly walked towards the closed door on the second floor, where he believed the noise came from. He drew one dagger back so he could open the door. With one ready, he quickly opened the door and raised his weapon, but he didn't see anything. His eyes darted around the dark room, only the moonlight illuminated the room. He finally spotted shattered decorative glass, coming to the conclusion that it was a vase. He heard a small meow and looked down, only to see a small cat. He started to laugh. "This is what I was afraid of?" This event seemed to make him feel better.
