"Mike?" Kevin asked, lowering his long dagger.
"Yeah nigga," Mike said smiling. "You hungry?" Mike pointed at the pasta.
"Hold the fuck up," Braden said lowing the gun. "Your still alive?"
"No shit," Mike said plating some pasta. "You guys want some lemonade?"
"Wait," Kevin said looking at the food and the drink. "Is that my food?"
"Yeah," Mike said. "Sorry about that, but I wanted to surprise you, I knew you lived here. And eating canned food from a dumpster is disgusting. And I see that your running out of food, too. But don't worry, I didn't drink any of your water, and I used the rest of mine for the pasta."
"How did you know where the generator was?" Kevin asked.
"I have my ways," Mike said. "And I saw it covered by a drape outside the window."
"How did you get in here?"
"The door was unlocked."
"God damnit Lissette." Kevin whispered to himself. Then he heard a sequel coming from Mike's pocket. "What was that?" Kevin asked.
"Oh," Mike reached in his pocket and took something out, a black hamster. "This is Luna." Mike said putting his hamster on his right shoulder. "And this," Mike put down the spoon he was using at took something hiding in the corner that Kevin and Braden noticed. It was a wooden baseball bat with nails sticking out and razor wire wrapped around it. "This is Emily."
"Emily?" Braden asked. Braden then turned to Kevin. "Isn't there a girl named Emily back at the school?"
Mike looked up with an anxious look to his face. "What color is her hair?" Mike asked.
"Blonde." Braden said.
"No," Mike said, looking at his bat. "That is not my Emily." Mike gripped the handle of his bat harder.
"Mike," Kevin gingerly walked up to Mike and put away his right dagger. Kevin put his right hand on Mike's left shoulder. "I'm sorry."
Mike looked up at Kevin with a grin on his face. "Naw, I'm just fucking with you."
"God damnit Mike." Kevin said. The two boys started to laugh.
"But seriously though," Mike said. "I miss her."
******************************
All 3 boys were seated at the table in the kitchen with plates of pasta and lemonade to drink.
"So what happened to you," Kevin asked, taking a bite out of his pasta. "I mean, after shit happened."
Mike's face turned dark. "My brother, he... he didn't make it," Mike took a sip of lemonade. "He got attacked by my sister. I tried to help, but my parents were chasing me, so I locked myself in my room. I had Luna with me," Mike petted his hamster. "She gave me the hope. I climes out of the window and ran. But it was chaos outside. Cars were driving into poles, there was screams coming from some houses, like, little kid screams. I then found an empty home and stayed there for a while, well, I thought it was empty. I went into a kids room and found this autographed baseball bat. Then out of nowhere those, those things, what do you call them?"
"Lissette and I call them grown-ups." Kevin said.
"I call them fuckers." Braden said, taking a bite out of his pasta.
"Well, whatever the fuck you call them," Mike continued. "they attacked me. I swung bat at them and killed them, after knocking them out. I found this leather jacket in that house and a hammer and nails. Then I found barb wire in the shed and wrapped it around Emily. It makes her look sexy, doesn't it?" Mike picked up his bat and admired it.
