Janice stood up, very wobbly, and pointed a black fingernail at Natalie. "I think he just wants to use you! You should find a guy like the guy I found tonight." Natalie's eyebrows wrinkled, she was becoming annoyed. "But you don't even know him!" Janice huffed at Natalie in response and marched to the bathroom, slamming the toilet seat up and vomiting.
Natalie plucked her phone off the charger and found Truth's number. "Hey kitten." Truth chirped after only a couple of rings. "Miss me already?" He said playfully. Natalie shook her head as a blush appeared on her cheeks but smiled at his tone. "Yes, but that's not why I'm calling." She whispered as she walked to her bedroom, locking the door behind her.
"The locust guy..." Natalie began, "Sol?" Truth intercepted for her. "Yeah. He was here. He was dropping Janice off and now her... her mind string is wrapped with gold and she's acting weird. She's convinced that I shouldn't see you anymore. And when I tried to touch the string, the gold was overwhelming. Does that make any sense? What's wrong with her?"
Truth groaned on the other end. "Hang on." Natalie waited for just a few seconds until there was a knock on her front door. She unlocked her bedroom door and opened it. Natalie watched from her door frame as Janice stood at the front door, blocking Truth from coming inside. Her hands were on her hips and she was beyond mad- she was furious. "Who the hell do you think you are?" Janice barked. Truth smiled, "Al." He said calmly, trying not to laugh. Janice stepped back and slammed the door shut in his amused face.
Natalie stepped forward, "What the hell is your problem?" Natalie roared. How dare Janice treat him like that! "You have no right to treat my company like that!" Janice shook her head, her eyes alive with hatred. Little tiny specs of gold sparkled in her green eyes, and if Natalie's eye sight wasn't enhanced, she would had never caught it. "I live here too! And you are my best friend! I honestly believe he's-" Janice pointed at the door, "-a piece of shit! And all he wants is to just fuck you! He's a lying sack of-"
Natalie's eyes swirled gold and silver and before she could stop herself, she drew her arm back and punched Janice in the mouth. "You have no right to talk about him like that!" Natalie screamed at her friend who was now laying on the floor. Natalie stepped forward, examining her friend. She instantly regretted hitting her. She didn't mean to hit her so hard, she didn't even know she could punch with so much power. Janice was knocked out cold.
The front door slowly opened and Truth stepped in, looking down at Janice's unconscious body and back at Natalie. A kind smile on his face. "Awww, kitten." He chuckled quietly. "You punched her?" Natalie shrugged, a nervous, sad smile forming on her face. "Well... She pissed me off."
"Why do you even drive a car when you can poof around everywhere?" Natalie asked, watching Truth study Janice's face, making a painful expression with a low whistle. "I like my car." He said, looking back up at her. "You got her pretty good."
Truth bent down and scooped Janice up in his arms with ease. "You know, it's not her fault she's acting this way." He said as he walked towards the couch and gently lied her down. "What did he do to her?" Natalie asked, anger and sadness in her voice. "Sol must of influenced her. I can't see past the gold to try and fix it. Since the balance has been tipped, the scales have been favoring Deceit." Natalie cleared her throat and sat next to Janice on the couch, stroking the hair out of her eyes. "Can I fix it?" Natalie asked hopeful. She didn't need her only friend to hate the man she was falling in love with.
Truth looked intrigued for a moment, thinking. "You know, I'm not sure..." He watched the gold and silver battle in Natalie's eyes. "Maybe. If my theory is right, you can. Try to unravel the gold from her natural yellow. But since the balance has been tipped, it's basically melted in there now and only a Guardian of Deceit can unravel it. But you're different." He tenderly stroked Natalie's cheek with the back of his hand. "You're not like any of us."
