Sorry it's so short, I've been brain dead from all the working and screaming kids. At least there's two chapters though, right? ;D Oh, and yeah its not as romantic as I thought it would be... bleh, sorry.
***** I have a Merle Haggard quote in here somewhere. This and next chapter (25) will be dedicated to the first person who finds it!!!!!
None of it is edited BTW, so help a woman out if you see mistakes, please. :)))
"Oh no you're not." Natalie protested, grabbing the fork with her other hand and stabbing a piece of egg.
"Oh yes I am." Truth grunted, grabbing her other wrist as she attempted to shove the eggs into her mouth. She snatched her body towards the fork, her teeth clamping the air as he steered her hand away from her mouth.
"I can do it!" She whined, feeling like a one year old whose parents wouldn't let feed themselves in fear of making a mess. "I'm not completely helpless you know." She snapped, her eyes darting from his determined pair back to the eggs on the end of her fork.
"No. Now I'm taking care of you, so let me do it." He argued, snatching her hand away from her mouth again as she tried to feed herself. "Do I have to take the fork away from you, or will you just let me feed you already?"
Natalie narrowed her blue eyes in challenge to his, diving on top of him in an attempt to knock him over, but failed. Instead she collided face first into his hard bare chest.
Truth bellowed out a loud guffaw, shaking his head as he swiftly maneuvered the fork away from her mouth for a fourth time.
Breaking out into a fit of giggles, Natalie wallowed on his lap, chasing her hand that Truth kept steered clear from her mouth. She looked like a determined three year old attempting to wrestle with a grown man, getting no where, but not giving up.
"Arghh!" Cried Natalie in frustration, her teeth clamping down unexpectedly on his wrist that held her hand.
"Ow," Truth grunted, using his other hand to pry the fork forcefully out of the tight grip she had with her fingers.
"Ow!" Natalie echoed, pouting as she looked down at her fingers he had twisted back. "Why'd you do that?" she whined.
"Really?" Truth gave her a crazy look, snorting. "You bit me!"
"Well, you won't let me eat!" She countered, eying the fork now in his hand longingly. "Just let me feed myself please." She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest as she straddled his lap.
"No." He dead panned, completely serious. "Just let me do this for you, okay? God you're so stubborn." He mumbled the last part mostly to himself.
"So are you." She retorted in a pout, scooting off of his lap and back to her original spot in front of him.
Grinning in victory, he held the fork to her mouth and she took a defeated bite. She was too hungry to fight with him anymore about it.
