"Levi, Erwin is holding a meeting to go over expedition plans" hanji said running by as her usual eccentric self

“Fuck. Okay Hanji. I’m going now.”

Levi didn’t want to go. Talking to Tyleen reminded him of his childhood friend Isabel, how much fight they both had, and how they treasured their “underground” status.

Levi’s only true love had only been fighting since his mother died so his duty to the military overpowered his desire to stay and keep talking to Tyleen

Hanji laughed. "Hurry up you're slow!" She called out

Tyleen didn't want him to go but she understood. He was someone that would understand her and maybe once she got a bit more comfortable someone to talk to about things on her mind. She knew he still treasured his underground status so they could talk about that. She looked at him. "You might want to go before the guy with the big eyebrows get upset." She said

“Oh.” With that he turned on his heel and dashed off, meeting up with Hanji within seconds.

“Are you coming?” He taunted her. Together they walked side by side into the commanders barracks. Keeping a stoic face, Levi tried to take a quick and discreet glance at Tyleen but Hanji caught him red handed.

“LEVI HAS A CRUSH!!! Ahhh I’m so proud of you I thought that you for sure only liked Titans and killed them because of some weird sexual frustration or death fettish thing.”

Stopping in his tracks Levi turned on Hanji.
“No. You are wrong, on all accounts.” With that, he moved faster into the barracks

Tyleen went off somewhere finally getting a smoke break. She leaned against the wall smoking a cigarette as she glanced seeing Levi as he walked. She looked away when he looked over so he didn't catch her staring. She herd hanji yelling and she blinked and chuckled to herself a bit amused.

Erwin was sitting in the office with Mike. He seen them come in. "Nice for you to join us. I don't think I've ever seen you late." He said looking at Levi.

"Maybe it'll be best to move Tyleen to Squad Mike so you're less distracted." Erwin added looking at Levi. "Anyways, we have an upcoming expedition. We're going to expand out more." He said

“Sir, that’s good to hear,” ignoring his comment and the way his stomach sank when the commander suggested Tyleen moving squads. Ignoring the feelings as soon as he felt them, and just wanted to continue with the meeting.

“How do you propose we gain territory? And where would we be going?

"just four miles out. We can manage that area." Erwin said. We'll use gear and techniques taught. And plus the king wants us to expand in this mission." Erwin said moving on from the previous topic talking about the mission now

“But, if it’s only a few miles, we’ll lose more soldiers than it would be worth. What can the human race do with a few extra miles of territory? Or is this another population cull?”
Levi was not impressed. The commanders knew how high the casualty rate for scouting missions was, and taking a few miles of territory is a step in the right direction, but it isn’t the right one. “Sir. With all due respect, this is not a good idea.”

Erwin sighed and nodded. "I know. He wants at least a few miles the more the better. And we tried to tell the king but this is our mission." He said. "We have two in a half weeks to make sure everyone is trained up and ready for this." He said "the king wants to expand with baby steps" he said "And I'm not sure if it is a population cull. He's always wanting to narrow our population since we don't even have enough food and supplies to feed everyone

“That, is asking people to die for nothing. We would lose those miles because there is no wall to keep the titans out of that area. It’s a suicide mission with no real reason!” Slamming his hands on the table in front of him, on his feet but not much taller than his seated companions.
“This is pointless and you know it.”

Erwin sighed. "Mine will, and it's not up to me the other squad that's for you guys to decide. Levi, we will be fine we will just have to train. The king ordered it and we brought it up to him but he refused to listen. He wants the land and to build the wall out some if we can" he said to him

“I’ll take my squad out. But as you said Erwin. I want Tyleen off my squad so I’m not distracted. She is to go into the defence.” Levi sat down, mentally thinking about the skill level of his people. When he wasn’t working with the training corps, his ‘The Levi Squad’ were the elites. They took on the most dangerous missions and the hardest tasks. “I’ll prep my old squad. I’m not taking rookies into this.”

Erwin looked at him and sighed. "She can be off your squad. But I'm not sure if she quite needs to go to defense. We need all the people we can get for offense." Erwin said looking at him.

“Erwin. They have started training today. They’re not ready for a full force scouting mission.”
He could see the carnage in his mind. Titans eating the Training corps out of the sky, and the most shocking image; a red headed corpse, it’s guts torn out the side and it’s leg missing, back twisted at an awkward angle on the ground.
“Tyleen is on defence or else. That’s not negotiable. She backchats her commanding officers, she can’t be trusted to follow rules on the battlefield.”

Levi felt the need to protect her. She reminded him of his childhood. The happy parts of it anyway. He’s not losing that again

Erwin needed the people he could get for offense. He decided to have Mike's squad fall back. "We have many new cadets and their class rank will depend on if they can fall back or not." He said

Erwin sighed as he crossed his arms. "I guess you're right. She does have a problem listening to command. It would be a hazard to us." He said. Erwin seen his protective side over Tyleen. He hasn't really ever seen Levi this protective over someone. He just figured it was an underground thing he didn't understand. "She will ride in Mike's squad." He told Levi. Erwin sighed. "Don't let her get you in trouble after all you've worked for here." He said
