“Oh. I did yes thank you.” Levi felt really awkward. He didn’t know how to react to her in public. Everyone was staring and his eyes flicked everywhere. “How are you doing?”

“Hey Tyleen, what did you do to the Commander? I think you broke him!” Some dude from behind them called out.

Tyleen looked seeing he felt awkward. She nodded. "I'm doing good, captain" she said respecting his rank and hoping that it would ease some of the awkwardness he felt. Hearing the others she sighed softly. "Sorry" she mouthed to Levi before going back to her work quietly

He mouthed back with half a smile. He had a strick reputation to uphold, and being his usual self around Tyleen wasn’t going to fly on an every day basis. “It’s okay. Talk later?”

Tyleen looked at him and nodded. "yeah talk later." She said as she went back to her work and walked with some other people in Hanjis squad to examine the brain to map it out

He pulled her in for a quick hug. “I have work to do for Erwin today but I’ll see you later.” Levi dashed off to Erwin’s office.

Erwin was sitting in his massive chair waiting for him. Relieved that Levi was wearing clothes, he gestured for him to sit.
“Congratulations on the engagement. I don’t see a ring though.” Deep down Erwin was happy for his friend but very jealous that Tyleen has captured his heart. So he was very salty about it.

Tyleen smiled as she hugged him back. "Alright see you later, I'll show you what a titan Brain looks like then" she teased before he ran off. She went back to mapping the brain and dissecting it.

Mike was sitting in there with then for the meeting. He nodded. "Yeah, I'm surprised there's no ring." He said not aware if the Ackerman traditions

Levi rolled his eyes. “It’s an Underground thing. We don’t use rings. We exchange emblems. She’s wearing the swords of the Ackerman clan on a specific necklace. I mean, I’d show you my clan mark but Erwin was traumatised by it the last time I brought it out.” Levi’s face was blank but his tone was jesting.

Mike nodded. "He told me about it," he replied with a chuckle. "And do you have an emblem?" He asked raising an eyebrow curiously to see if he got a necklace too or if there was something else he said. He sensed Erwin was a bit jealous and salty but he didn't pay anything mind, he found it amusing

“I do have an emblem but it’s a tattoo. The necklace is an engagement thing. It’s... special.” Levi couldn’t give away that it reflected light off the other necklaces of the same kind because that had been a long kept secret in the tribe. It was treason to spam of it.

Mike nodded. "I see, well I hope the best for you two. Do you still want her in my squad?" He asked raising an eyebrow. It was Levi's fiancee so he figured Levi should have some say in where she ended up in the squads. But Mike wasn't going to always ride rear sometimes he liked doing left flank in formation so their positions depend on the mission

“She’s capable but I’d prefer to not be in vanguard. She’s a pretty distraction and might actually listen to you.” Levi’s deadpan look didn’t match his tone again. Tyleen was a troublemaker and he couldn’t protect an entire squad if he was soley focused on her. It was probably better if they weren’t together.

Mike nodded. "Alright, I understand we'll have to see if another position besides the Vanguard will fit her" he said and looked at Erwin as Erwin nodded slightly. He knew Tyleen was a troublemaker. She has been since she stepped foot on the surface for the first time, he had never seen a marriage within the Scouts so he understood they probably shouldn't be together in sake of everyone else's saftey.

Levi knew of one couple from the scouting regiment. Thinking of how the husband was split in half by a Titan and his wife refusing to leave his side, desperately tying to resuscitate him. The memory made him shiver

"Are you okay?" Erwin asked raising an eyebrow looking at Levi seeing him shiver. He knew something must have been on his mind. He hoped their marriage wouldn't get in the way it duties that they needed to perform. He was worried for his friend Levi, worried that he would do something dumb again because of her. Especially since he followed almost everything and Tyleen didn't

“Do you remember the couple a few years ago who both died? One was eaten by a Titan, the other went mad and got eaten because they were o the ground? I was thinking about that. That was a sad day for l of us.” Levi looked down. He still had their arm patches in his draw. He had actually ditched the two peoples patches together so they wouldn’t be apart.

Erwin frowned as he thought about it and he nodded. "Yes I remember, but you and Ty will be okay. Don't worry about it" he said to him trying to put the thought or fear to rest. He knew Levi overanalyzed a lot of stuff trying to draw connections and he didn't want him thinking if something like that

“You’re right.” Erwin was generally right about these things. And Levi trusted him. He’d gotten the man back for being a dick under orders, so they were back to square one
