Faith and I sat outside for lunch - which seemed to be the only "class" we had together. It was infuriating. We had the same teachers, placement, but different periods. She insisted that I use my quote-on-quote charm to get the counselors to change our schedules, but I told her they know me all to well.

So here we are, outside in the field, eating our sandwiches. She's been ranting to me non-stop about how Dylan keeps pestering her in Chemistry, in which I roll my eyes to.

"He's stuck in kindergarden," I sigh and she nods in agreement. "Can't any of the guys at this school grow up already?"

"When I told my mom about us breaking up, she lost it," Faith spoke with dread dragging on her each word. Faith and Dylan's families are pretty close, being that their fathers' are business partners.

"Did you mention the fact that he cheated on you?" I emphasized cheated.

She laughed, "if I did, Dylan wouldn't be here right now."

"What a shame," I grinned. "But I guess I wouldn't be able to break his nose, so."

"You know, I'm still waiting for him to get revenge," Faith tapped her chin in sarcastic thought.

I frowned, "whatever he has plans can't be too much, right?"

She nods, takes a bite of her sandwich and her eyes green-eyes widen to the size of emeralds.

"What?" I look at her as she swallows and a sheepish smile morphs her lips. I cock an eyebrow at her in which she clears her throat.

"I may have forgot to mention," I sigh at the beginning of her words. Whatever Faith "forgets" to mention, probably isn't going to end well. "My cousin is staying over at my house. My aunt got a divorce and she has no place to go."

"What about that is a big deal?"

"Nothing - forget I said anything," she grins and hops up from the grass. "He's coming tonight."

"Wait - Fath!" before I could continue, my blonde-haired best friend dashed across the field to get to class. "He?"

My eyebrows remained furrowed as I sit, not wondering why everyone was dashing to get to class. I let out a dramatic groan and fell back on the grass, squinting at the sun right in my eyes.

"This year is going to be something," I mutter to myself.

"Talking to yourself?" a voice I recognize spoke. I turned to my side and met eyes with a grinning Ryan Martin.

Ryan is a good guy. He broke rules, as any "bad-boy" his age. In honesty, he never really caused permanent damage and had a decent amount of respect for people. I suppose we're friends, but I don't know if Ryan agrees.

I smiled, "hello to you too, Ryan."

"You know class started like five minutes ago?"

"So what are you doing out here?" I smirked.
