I was walking from the corner store back to my apartment. I moved back in and got some security with a little bit of my savings.
"Rena? that you?" I heard a deep voice behind me.
I turned around to be met with a tall dark skin guy. He looked a little familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. I guess he seen my facial expression because he spoke again.
"Sam. You know from middle school." I shook my head and kept my confused expression.
"I used to beat niggas ass for yo mean ass."
"Oh shit. You look so different. Damn you grew up." I looked him up and down.
"So a nigga can't get a hug or nothin?" He asked with his arms out.
I walked up and hugged him.
"Whatchu been up to?" He asked.
"School, work, and taking care of my son."
"You got a baby now?"He asked
I nodded and put my hands on my hips looking up at him.
"Damn you done grew up on a nigga. I'll admit I had a lol crush on ya rude ass."
"Yeah whateva." I brushed him off.
"I did, even though you stayed dissin a nigga. My feelin's used to be hurt."
I laughed at his foolishness and looked back up at him. He definitely grew up. He was at least 6'3 now and his chocolate colored skin was now clear of any acne he might of had then. His once scrawny upper body had been replaced with broad shoulders and muscled arms. He also had a short beard now.
