Where Have you Been?

Cleo's POV

I wake up in my home with Ricky and Annie beside me. Looking at the time I see it was nine thirty and sigh in relief. Before getting out of bed to go make us all breakfast. While getting Advil and two glasses of water for the other two. I decide to do some bacon and scrambled eggs with toast. As I grabbed the eggs and bacon from the fridge. I turn see Thantos and drop what I was carrying in surprise.

But thankful Thantos caught both and put them on the bench. Before turning back to me and I hug him tightly. "Where were you? I was worried" I say as he hugs me back.

"Sorry, the people upstairs had a problem with our deal. But it's all sorted now" he assures me. Before I could ask what he was talking about Annie appeared.

"Cleo, Ricky is throwing up in your toilet. Do you have Advil?" she asks before realizing I wasn't alone. "Who's this?" she asks me.

"Annie this is Thantos, Thantos this is one of my best friends Annie" I introduce the pair.

"A pleasure to meet you" Thantos says smiling as they shake hands.

"There's Advil and two glasses of water on the table" I state as Ricky appears. Both she and Annie take the pills before she saw Thantos. "Ricky this is Thantos" I tell her.

"Wow, you're hot" she states. I then get started on breakfast for everyone, getting a glass for Thantos. "So do you have any brothers or hot friends who are single?" Ricky asks him.

"No, all my friends are taken or have their eye on someone special. And I'm an only child" he tells her.

"So any plans for this morning Cleo?" Annie asks me.

"I have an office appointment, then need to pick up Jim. We're going to go see Spider-man Homing" I tell her.

"Ricky and I have to head back to college after breakfast" she states.

"Have a safe journey" I tell them. We finish breakfast with minimum discussion and put the dishes in the dishwasher. I then hugged Annie and Ricky goodbye, before they left. "You're coming with me" I say grabbing Thantos' arm and dragging him to my car. Holding my keys in the other hand, hand bag over my shoulder. "What was this problem you spoke of? Where were you?" I demand.

"In the underworld's dungeon" he states. "Turns out you were to marry an arch angel when you died" he adds.

"But I can't go to Heaven because of our contract" I say.

"Exactly and they wanted me to terminate our contract" he states.

"That would of killed Jimmy" I say trying not to cry.

"I know and I refused knowing how much he means to you. But angels only care about themselves" he tells me. "So a bet was made, if you could resist the strongest Incubus' charm. Then Heaven would leave us alone and the arch angel would find a new bride" he explains.

"And if I'd failed?" I ask.

"There would of been a war for your hand. See there are only two ways to terminate our contract. One is I do it myself or two I die" he explains. "Of course I would of never terminated it and the Devil protects his own. You passed and the rest is history" he states.

"I passed, that guy at the bar" I say shocked. "He was an Incubus?" I ask.

"The best in the Underworld and you resisted him completely" he tells me.

"I don't understand, how is that possible? And why were you in a dungeon?" I ask him.

"Only two reasons someone can resist an Incubus or Succubus. One they're loyal to a contract or their beliefs. Two they are truly in love with someone" he states. "I was in the dungeon so that I couldn't interfere or warn you about the test" he adds. We reach the law firm and I park the car.

"I don't understand any of this, but thank you for having faith in me" I say kissing his cheek. "We should have dinner sometime, see you around" I tell him before getting out of the car. When I turn back to lock it he was gone and I smile gently. That's when I realize that in some weird UN-explainable way. I was falling in love with Death.

"How may I help you?" the receptionist asks after saying hello.

"Cleo Patrova, I have an appointment with Mr Williams at eleven" I tell her.

"Of course, take a seat and he'll be with you shortly" she tells me. Mr Williams appears and leads me to his office. I sit down in one of the chairs in front of his desk and he sits in the one behind it.

"You're a little young to be looking to make a will" he says confused.

"Well I starting college soon and leaving my little brother alone with a friend of the family. We're all each other has and I just want to have my affairs in order. Encase something happens while I'm away at college" I explain.

"Of course, let us begin" he says smiling. We spend the next ninety minutes drafting up my will. "Ok, I'll write it out and we can make another appointment in about a wake" he tells me. I agree and shake his hand before leaving. I book my next appointment at the reception desk before leaving to pick up Jimmy.

We reached the cinema in time, before the movie started and got a medium freshly popped buttered popcorn to share. As well as a drink each and of course our tickets. I paid for it all and we sat in the back in the middle. It was an awesome movie and Jimmy loved the fact that Ironman was in it. We then went home and I heated us up leftovers for dinner. Before we called it an early night as he has school the next day and I've got work.
