The Diner

Cleo's POV

"Jim are you ready?" I ask as I pack his lunch box.

"Yes Cleo, can I hangout with Nick after school?" he asks as he enters the kitchen.

"Is it ok with his mother?" I ask him. He nods his head. "Then you can, but no later then five" I tell him.

"Thanks Cleo" he says with a smile. I place the lunch box in his bag and hand it to him. Then grab my purse and keys. We leave the house and I lock up. I drive him to school in my grey car.

"Have a good day and behave" I tell Jim when we reach the school. "Also have Nick's mum allow you to call me when you reach her house" I add.

"Yes Cleo, see you" he says and gives me a kiss on the cheek before leaving. I smile sadly knowing that this would soon end. I shake the thought from my mind and drive to the diner.

"I'm sorry for not coming in Monday night and thanks for covering for me" I say to Zoey.

"Anytime, besides you covered for me many times. I was happy to return the favor" she states. "You're on the counter today and I'm one of the waitresses" she adds. I nod my head and change into my work uniform. We then both go out to the front. "Wish me luck" she says before going around the counter.

"Good luck" I say with a smile. I set up the cash register and card machine. "Hello, dine in or take away?" I ask the customer.

"Dine in, table 13" he states.

"Ok, what would you like?" I ask.

"Chicken Focaccia and a coke" he says. He pays cash and I give him the change.

"It'll be at your table in ten minutes" I tell him and he goes to his table. I grab the half made Focaccia and hand it to a waiter along with the receipt. "Chicken Focaccia" I tell him. He nods his head and heads to the kitchen. This continues until lunch, me taking orders and passing them on to other people.

"Cleo take your lunch break" the manager tells me. "I'll cover the counter" she states and I nod my head. I order myself something and make myself an ice coffee. Then sit down in booth two and wait for my brownie.

"How's work going?" a man asks sitting in front of me.

"I know you, your that incubus from the club" I state.

"Guilty, I must say my son choose well this time" he states.

"You're Thantos' father?" I ask curious.

"Mm hm" he hums nodding his head. "I wanted to get to know you without Thantos around. After all, you will be my daughter in law" he states.

"Nothing is set yet, just that he will take my soul in a little over five months" I tell him.

"Trust me, you two will marry before the year is through" he says with a smirk. Just then Zoey appears with my brownie. She asks Cole if he'd like something. "No thanks, I was just leaving" he tells her. "Remember what I told you Cleo" he says before leaving. Zoey returns to work and I enjoy my break in peace.

I return to work and finish at two. I say goodbye to my fellow employees before going to change. I had my jeans on and no top when Thantos appears. (Cleo topless: https://i.redd.it/l8eah96odsvz.png). "Thantos" I squeak covering myself.

"Oh relax" he says leaning against the wall. "My father said he was here, I wanted to make sure he was civil" he states.

"He was fines, but seems to be delusional" I say as I turn around. I put my top on along with my jacket. I grab my purse and car keys. I turn to go to the door only for Thantos to block my way. He backs me into the lockers placing his arms either side of me.

"How so?" he asks with a smirk.

"He believes we'll be married by the end of the year, but you don't even have my soul yet. Or have proposed and it takes at least a year to plan the perfect wedding. Besides I don't know if I love you that way yet" I tell him.

"Ouch that hurt, how about we go on that date then" he suggests.

"Not now I have stuff to do at home" I state.

"How about Friday night, have Lara look after Jim" he states.

"You're persistent, but fine. Can I please go now?" I ask. He smirks and kisses my cheek before disappearing. I sigh shaking my head and leave the diner. I drive home and start to clean. Jim called me at three twenty to see he was at Nick's house. I thank him and we hang up. I then call Aunt Lara to ask her to look after Jim Friday night. She agrees and we say goodbye.

Nick's mum dropped Jim off at home at five. I thank her for having him and then she left. Jim and I make a homemade pizza and put it in the oven. Then sit down to watch Spy Kids, when the timer goes off. I leave Jim to continue to watch the movie and place the pizza on a plate before cutting it

I pour us both a drink and place them on the coffee table. I grab us each a plate and carry them into the lounge with the pizza. I place the big plate with pizza onto the table. We then take a slice each and continue to watch the movie. Jim ate two slices and I ate three. I put the final three slices in the fridge. I help Jim do his homework before sending him to brush his teeth.

I then read him a story before tucking him in. I then get ready for bed and lay under the covers. I look at the hour glass before turning off my lamp and fall asleep. To appear in a gazebo in front of a middle aged couple. "Mum, dad" I say shocked.
