Tails looked at the hedgehog. Everything froze. Time itself seemed to crawl about. The red echidna would send the final blow that would throw him into the realm where his aunt and her friends may be. He felt the stones in his hand beat. A soft hum. Like the rocks were singing a harmonic tune. He needed to tell the hedgehog how he felt. He had bottled it up for a while now. He felt his body tremble. Something wasn't right. Something was off. He watched as time unfrozen itself. The blue hedgehog weeping to the side, the black godlike fox smirking in his devious ways. The red echidna, memorized by the spell, ready to thrust this object into the poor innocent heart of the living mobian. Tails watched as the sword began its journey towards him. The blade tip sharper than a knife. He closed his eyes, sure that fate would arrive soon after.
Something wasn't right. It had been a few seconds and there was nothing. Tails opened his eyes. Expecting to be somewhere else, not in that town. He stared at the blade. The blade an inch from his chest. He followed it towards the beholder. The weapon had stopped mid-air. A surprised look came upon the echidna's face. Tails didn't know why. He was about to say something when a white feather fell down across his muzzle. He looked up and saw the magnificent beauty that seemed inseparable from him. Wings at least three or four feet wide stretched across the fox's back. The pure white feathers blowing in the wind. Tails felt a sudden power come across him. He looked over at the blue hedgehog. He smirked at the astonished look he was given. Tails grabbed the sword and threw it to the side. The red echidna had a frightened look on his face. "Kill him." The black god said angrily. The red echidna didn't move. Tails walked past and towards his hedgehog friends. Finis became quite angered by this. "Fine if you won't, I will." Tails listened as the god came thrusting towards him. He left his back turned. The black god laughed and shot something at the fox, which seemed to come from nowhere. Tails blacked out.
Sonic watched as the fox's eyes glowed a golden color. He turned around just as the lightning came towards him. Tails held out his hand as the lightning struck. He moved his hands in a circular motion before throwing it back. The black god had a surprised look on his face before the bolt of light struck him. Sending him to the ground. Tails lifted himself up, the wings and his Tails doing the work. Sonic watched as the fox spread his arms in an accepting gesture before a bolt of lightning came striking out of the sky and met the fox. Tails looked back at the black god. A renewed strength. Tails chanted something. A bolt of light shot out of nowhere striking the god again. Tails returned back to the ground extending a hand to both hedgehogs. Amy's face gave a priceless look of wonder and superstition. Sonic took the fox's hand. Tails smiled. He lifted him up. "He won't be distracted for long." Sonic listened to the fox's heavenly voice. It was like a harp playing a lullaby, each stanza as another beautiful line of the song. Sonic nodded helping Amy up. Suddenly the fox fell over. The wings returning to their inseparable partner. Sonic watched as the god got up slowly. They had to get out of that place. Sonic knew what he had to do, the thing he was best at doing. He picked up the fox, who laid like a ragdoll upon the ground, and threw him over his shoulder. He took Amy's hand, which produced a blush over her face, and began his favorite hobby......running.
