"Sonic? Sonic?" Sonic opened his eyes. To see Amy above him. "Wha-." He said confused. "Sonic, what happened?" Sonic noticed they were back in the lair. In the same spots in the hallway. "I thought you died, Amy!?" Sonic said overwhelmed by what happened. "Sonic calm down." She said. "I thought I died as well." Eggman came walking over. "Something happened." He says looking around. Sonic got up, he expected to feel pain but there was none. "Where is Tails!?" Sonic said realizing what had just happened moments before. "He isn't here," Eggman said looking around. "But I died before I could see what happened...." "Same here," Amy said eyes wide. "Wait if we all supposedly died how are we alive now?" She stated. Sonic thought about that. "Tails died too." He blurted out. Amy and Eggman walked over. "Tell me what happened Sonic," Amy said looking scared and confused. Sonic felt the tears streaming down his face. At this point, he didn't care. His fox was still gone. "Well, after you guys were gone Tails stopped Finis. It seemed Tails couldn't take it anymore when he got that same look at the plaza. Remember Amy?" Amy nodded her head. "What look?" Eggman asked questioningly. "Tails had developed some sort of weird power it seems. It makes his eyes these gold color and a tear of gold appears right below his eye. Quite strange looking actually." Amy concluded. Eggman nodded taking all this information in. Sonic continued. "After that Tails talked something of love and he touched Finis who then decimated into yellow dust...." Sonic could feel his voice starting to crack as he remembered where this story was taking him. "And Tails?" Eggman said. "Tails was thrown back by the blast of dust. He hit the wall. We laid there staring at each other when he grabbed a piece of metal." Sonic was full on crying now but tried to make his voice sound as clear as possible. The tears making rivers across his face.  He took the metal and told me to forgive him and that, "prophecy must be fulfilled." Amy let a few tears fall realizing where this story was going as well. "In the book," Eggman said thinking. "It says, towards the end, that a sacrifice of the purest kind must be made to alter the present state of being to its previous nature...." Sonic nodded. "Tails killed himself to fulfill the prophecy and keep us all alive. To restore things back to what it was." Sonic finished putting his head down. This all made sense to them now. Everything might have been back to normal but not quite. There was an emptiness that took refuge In everyone's hearts. That emptiness was Tails. He was gone. Nothing can fix that. Sonic shook his head. "There has to be some way to bring him back..." Sonic asked Eggman to grab the book. Eggman nodded and grabbed the old leathered cased book. "Sonic, don't do this to yourself." Amy said grabbing his shoulder. "Its just gonna cause more pain." Sonic flipped through the pages reading and skimming. He tore through the pages quickly. Each one flipping and  resting side on the left of the book. Nothing.  "There has to be something...." Sonic said skimming every page. Eggman looked down. "Sonic...." Amy saud shutting the book slowly in his hands. "Tails is gone....he wouldn't want this...." Sonic got up quickly. "You don't know what Tails would want!" He sobbed and yelled. Amy looked down sorrow fully.  "I do know he would want us yo be happy. To live life to the fullest, and to not waste this second chance he gave us Sonic." Sonic looked at the floor his tears falling like rain. Each one streaming down his face like a river. His heart beat but not the rhythm he was used to. No. This rhythm was pure and upmost pain and sorrow.   "So where do we go from here?" Eggman said thinking aloud...... Sonic ran towards the doorway. "Sonic where are you going!?" Amy yelled. Sonic pushed past the lair door. The sunlight hitting him in the face. The sun held high. He began to do what he did best. Run. Everything behind him. He ran down to the beach. Grabbing the oars and beginning to row. "Sonic!? Sonic!?" Amy yelled. He rowed quickly towards the shore in the distance. He continued to row. The tears becoming painful memories of all the fun times the fox and him had. They had done so many things together. They were always there for each other. Yet, the one time Tails needed Sonic most...." Sonic hit the beach and stumbled face first on the beach. He laid there. Hopelessness overcoming him. Tails was gone. "I love you." Those three words kept ringing in his head. "Tails....why did you have to leave...." He got up and continued to run. Tails's smile, his laugh, his eyes....gone. He ran away from his problems. Ran away from his past life. Away from everything. He made his way through the woods. He knew what he needed to do. He couldn't do this. Not anymore. To much pain. To much sorrow. To much memories. That hole in his heart grew. The emptiness like a void. Nothing could replace it. He knew where he was going........ And he didn't plan to return back. Not with out Tails. Not at all.......
