Tails set down the book. He loved this story because it gave more meaning to being a Mobian fox. Something slipped out the side. He picked it up. A bracelet? Tails put it around his wrist. It felt nice. It was a short rope string with a rock in the middle. He looked at the rock it had a symbol he had never seen before. Two angel wings with two tails below it. He shrugged it off. It was cool. Tails watched out the window, the rain creating little rivers down the pane. He had bought this book from the library after it went under. Nothing has been the same since the government deemed Mobians a "hazard to human life." The government came through the first time killing and beating...... burning and capturing. Tails sat in his little house....or what was left of it. Just a few days ago was the third time this month the government came through. Sonic and the others tried fighting but the government is to strong. They have guns and bombs some even faster than the fastest thing alive.....Sonic. Eggman was deemed dangerous and they threw him in prison with other criminals. Sonic and the team were called rebels and were said to be, "very dangerous." Tails knew the world had gone to hell but he held onto the two things keeping him going. Hope........and Sonic. Tails got up the water dripping through the roof. He had set up buckets everywhere to catch the dripping tears of the sky. There was a knock at the door. Tails walked past all the buckets of sky tears and opened the door. Sonic. "Hey Tails can I come in?" Sonic said looking sad. "You know you don't have to ask right?" Tails said smiling with an eyebrow raised. Sonic walked in and Tails shut the door. He walked over to the couch and sat down head in his hands. "The government is coming back in a few days to finish off the town......" Tails walked over and put his hand on the hedgehog's shoulder. "So we fight back. We may not win but I think if we try we can do anything." Sonic looked up into Tails's blue eyes, the eyes of kindness and hope. Sonic loved that about Tails. He never lost hope. Sonic got up and looked around the room at all the rain dripping in. He frowned and looked at Tails. "Why haven't you moved out yet? Everyone else moved to the woods." Tails looked around with a smile. "I've always come to love this house. The dripping doesn't bother me it gives me something to do and I like the sound, it helps me sleep." Tails smiled looking around him. He had a home, it may not of been the biggest or nicest but it was his and it was home. Sonic smiled at the Fox's attitude. He was always sees the good side of things, and people for that matter. To bad he was bored all the time. His hanger had been confiscated and everything he loved had been taken. Except his plane. He hid that were no one could find it. Tails noticed Sonic looking at him and blushed. The hedgehog did that quite a lot and Tails didn't know why. Tails moved towards the fridge. He knew Sonic must've been hungry. He grabbed a chilidog and started warming it up in the microwave. Nothing had been the same since the government interfiered. It was like everyone was someone different. Well everyone but Tails. Tails grabbed the plate and took it to Sonic. He hovered the plate in front of the hedgehog mockerily. Sonic looked at Tails with a smile. "You always know how to cheer me up." Sonic took the plate happily and began eating. Tails walked over to the kitchen and got a glass of water. He turned around and suddenly his vision went black.
Screaming. Explosions. Something was going on. A voice..... a man's voice. "You were born for this."
Tails vision returned. He was on the floor Sonic holding him and was right above him with a worried look in his eyes. "Tails what's wrong?" One second you were getting some water and the next I hear glass breaking and your on the floor." Tails looked around confused. "What was that." Tails said aloud to himself. Sonic felt the foxs head he wasn't warm. "Did you slip?" Sonic asked looking around for something he could have slipped on. Tails just nodded and looked into the nothingness in front of him. He was thinking again. He did that quite a bit. Tails picked up the fox bridal style, snapping the fox out of it. He looked up at his blue friend blushing. He loved it when Sonic carried him. He felt loved and safe. Sonic set him on the couch. Tails was about to say something when Sonic pressed his figure lightly against the fox's lips. "Shhhh you need to rest." Tails continued to blush from Sonic sift touch. Sonic went to the bedroom grabbing blankets and pillows. He set them up on the couch for Tails telling him to do this or that so Sonic could set it up. "Why do I have to lay down? I'm not sick!" Sonic looked into Tails's eyes. "Yes you are so stop denying it." Tails actually did feel a little nauseated from the fall. Tails layed down. A loud boom was heard followed by the flash of light. The power turned off making the room dark. Tails screamed a little and pushed himself up against the side of the couch. He cried a little. "Stupid damn thunder."he said between sobs. He felt someone lay on the couch next to him. Wrapping their arms around him. Sonic held the fox close. Tails hated thunderstorms. He knew that. Tails blushed. The warmth from Sonics body felt so good. Tails would never want to leave this couch if this is how it felt. He cuddled closer to the hedgehog letting out a pleasureful sigh. Tails hadn't even noticed the next boom from outside. He was to focused on two things....the hedgehog.
....and what the hell happened in the kitchen. He heard Sonic let out a little grunt. He was already asleep. Tails shut his eyes listening to the rain hit the roof and Sonic's heartbeat. Tails loved the Sound of Sonic's heart. It had a hermonic tune to it. He slowly felt himself drift..... drifting off into a deep sleep.
