“Ready?” Chris asked as I got dressed. He had actually spent the night in my room, which the girls loved because they could tease him and also tease us about the fact that we had sex. We, unfortunately, didn’t get the chance to do anything that night.
“Yeah,” I said, scanning over my outfit one more time. I decided to wear a black skirt that flared out, and a mint green and dark pink floral crop top. I then slipped on my favorite mint green heels, curled my hair, and ran out the door with him.
“I probably should’ve worn something to make me look more intimidating,” I muttered.
“Please don’t start changing again,” groaned Chris. “You already spent around two hours getting ready.”
“How else do you expect me to look this fabulous?” I teased, kissing his cheek.
“Ew!” he gasped, wiping the lipstick off his cheek. I just laughed at him because he sounded like a little kid who didn’t want to get kissed by his mom. I rolled my eyes, wrapping my arm around his waist as we walked outside.
We made our way into the woods and I said, “So, where to?”
“Remember the gas station you were going to go to originally? We’re going to meet my brother there.”
“Alright,” I said. I then asked, “Will you carry me? My heels hurt from walking in my feet.”
He scooped me into his arms and he complained, “You know, for a badass witch, you aren’t really intimidating.”
“Offense!” I gasped, pretending as if he had hurt my feelings. “Look, I can still beat you up in heels. You’ve personally seen me do it to Ash.”
“Were you wearing heels?”
“I don’t remember…” I trailed off, but I really did know that I wasn’t wearing heels. I just didn’t want to admit that I was wrong.
“Changing the subject, we’re here,” Chris said, setting me down on the road as we crossed the road.
“Why did the two witches cross the road?” I asked him.
“To go to a rebellion base against the government system?”
I laughed, even though nothing about it was funny in the slightest. A bit of a darker humor, I guessed. We got to the station, and he leaned against the side of the building and waited impatiently. I prayed that his brother showed up before the nerves started to set in.
“What’s your brother’s name, anyway?” I asked, putting my mint green sunglasses on. I was trying to look more intimidating, but with my short height and my floraly outfit, I knew it would be best to just give up. I tapped my fingernails against the side of the building, and saw that they were pink. Yeah, I’m really badass.
A few minutes later, a car pulled up. It was a sleek, silver car, and it screamed money. “Looks like my parents still have style,” he snorted before he opened the backseat, slipping in. I went in after him, and looked at his brother.
