Chapter Thirty-eight

"Jordan? " I asked after the gasp.

"What are you doing here? " he asked.

"What are you doing here? "  I asked him not wanting to answer. He was still my boyfriend after all so telling him about brad would maybe just make things between us worst.

"I'm visiting my aunt, what are you doing here? " he asked. I'll just have to tell him. It is the truth after all.

"Visiting...a friend, " I spoke and he raised his brows.

"You know what, let me just make it straight and make this bad for myself...I'm visiting brad, " I spoke and he just kept looking at me until he looked away.

"What happened to him? " he asked after a short while.

"He..got shot, " I spoke but he didn't seem surprised.

"Oh, " he said and i nodded.

There was a short silence, we just looked at each other until I cleared my throat.

"Are we gonna talk? " I asked and he sighed.

"If you want to talk that would be good, no problem, " he answered and I nodded.

"I'll call you, " I spoke mesmerizing his number in my head.

"Got your phone back? " he asked.

"No, " I answered.

"Why don't I just pick you up tonight and we can get something to eat and talk things over?" he asked and i smiled.

"I'd love that," i agreed to his suggestion.

"I'll talk to you later, " he spoke after a short silence then he walked away after I nodded.

He's being weird, and I know he and brad might have had some differences because of course brad and i broke up but he didn't seem to care that I said he got freaking shot.

I got in my car and drove away.

When I got home I told mom about brad, that he was ok and that I was gonna visit him later on in the evening. I wonder why she wasn't saying anything about school. I still remember what I heard last night

I headed to the house phone when mom went upstairs and dialed the number Aleekie gave me.

It rang three times then answered.

"Hey ally, " I heard a answer.

"Is this Aleekie? " I asked in a low tone.

"Yea, I thought you'd call earlier, what happen? " he asked.

"I..I didn't get any time, " I lied.

"Didn't know you were that busy, " he spoke when the door bell rang. Shit..I have to get that.

"Ally? " I heard casie's voice after the door open. What's she doing here?

I saw her hurrying my way but she moved faster when she saw me.

"Is everything ok? " I heard akeelie.

"Ally, nickoy is threatening to expose you, what did you do? " she sounded concerned. Oh no! I never told her.

"Ally? Who's threatening to expose you?" I heard akeelie.

"No one, " I answered him while casie looked at me concerned.

I can't believe he's really planning to do that, I thought he would drop it. I thought I didn't give a shit about it but now I'm worrying he might ruin me.
