Imperfections (Zalfie)

When we went back into the room, Joe explained to everyone what was going on. I felt like if I had told them, I would break down.

Once he finished, Niomi was in tears as I went over and comforted her. Alfie just simply left the room. It has really gotten to him.

We decided to leave him for a bit, he needs some space.

We sat for about 15 minutes in silence. No one saying a word. Not an awkward silence, but one where it was peaceful and nobody needed to say anything.

We heart a slight beep. Then another.

"What's happening?" Niomi asked

We looked over at Marcus to see him wriggling and shaking slightly. The beeping continued.

Then, the unexpected happened.

Marcus woke up.

Niomi grasped onto his arm, never wanting to let go.

"Marcus?!" I asked.

He just grunted, clearly still trying to get used to everything around him.

"Joe, get Alfie!" I shouted.

Joe nodded and sprinted out of the room.

Marcus started to come back to reality just as I pressed the red button next to his bed.

A mere few minutes later, the doctor came in.

"Ahh, Marcus, nice to see you awake" The doctor said

"What happened?" Marcus asked, squinting his eyes.

"You were in an accident Marky" Niomi answered

"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked

"Alright I guess, just a sore head and leg" He answered, noticing the cast on his left leg.

After the doctor asked more questions, Alfie and Joe came running back into the room, panting.

"What's going on?" Alfie asked

"Alfie" Marcus said

"Marcus! Your awake!" He said, running to him, relief washed over his face.

"Yeah, i'm gonna be okay" Marcus smiled.

He was right, the doctor said he will be fine and allowed out by the end of the week. He will need a wheelchair though until his leg heals.

The doctor left and we all went into a group hug.

I'm just happy that everyones okay.
