After we got out of the Malasada Shop, I asked Lillie whether we should get to Alaska Island by ferry or Charizard.
"Charizard is faster, but I don't know what your preference would be," I said.
"Let's go by Charizard. That way we'll have more time at the island."
"Okay than. Wait, do you have a ride pager?"
"I do, actually. There's no Pokémon registered though."
"Well that's fine. You just need the gear that comes with it. Get it out and switch it to air mode."
"Ok." Lillie slipped her bag off and rustled through it, pulling out her ride pager. Afterwards, she switched it to air.
"Ok, now what?" she asked.
"Hit the button on the pokeball."
She cautiously pushed the button, and the pokeball zapped the gear onto her. She looked down at herself.
"That's weird," she said as I got my own gear on.
"Well, whoever invented pokeballs did create a small space that could shrink down living things, even something like a Steelix or Wailord, so might as well use that technology for other non living objects," I said, switching my ride pager to Charizard. I pulled out the pokeball and tossed it to the ground. In a familiar bolt of energy, Charizard emerged.
"I guess, but it still seems strange to me."
I climbed onto Charizard, silently thanking my past self for replacing the old saddle for a two seat one.
"Will he be able to support our weight?" Lillie asked in a concerned tone.
Charizard snorted as if to say of course I can.
"Yeah, I've flown with another person on him plenty of times, he doesn't mind."
"Ok," Lillie said. She climbed on behind me.
Charizard looked back at me, waiting for a destination.
"Is there any particular place on Alana you want to visit first?" I asked.
"No, not that I can think of."
"Ok then, Akala Harbor I guess."
Charizard gave me a slight nod.
I looked back at Lillie, "Hang on to something."
Lillie grabbed the handles and cocked her head, "Why are you warning-"
Charizard shot into the sky. Lillie tightened her grip on the handles.
I laughed. "That's why."
After a few seconds, we slowed down a little.
Lillie breathed a sigh of relief. "Don't scare me like that."
"Hey, I did tell you to hang on."
"But you didn't tell me why!"
I snickered. "Where's the fun in that?"
Lillie groaned. "Why are you so mean sometimes?"
"It's fun to mess with you, what can I say?"
"Hau doesn't do stuff like that."
I laughed. "Hau and I are very different."
"Obviously."
"I'm not that bad, am I?"
"You can be."
"Can be?"
"The rest of the time you're... well... you."
"And that means?"
"I don't know how to say it without sounding weird."
"Well you get a second to think. We're landing."
Charizard swooped down towards the ground. We slowed down and landed.
We both hopped off and I returned Charizard to his pokeball. Afterwards, I returned the gear to the pokeball as well. Lillie did the same.
"So, welcome back to Akala Island!" I said.
"This place hasn't changed at all," Lillie said, looking around.
"I guess... what were you saying earlier?"
"Huh?"
"About how I am when I'm not being mean."
"Oh! Umm..." Lillie trailed off.
"Come on."
Lillie bit her lip. "It's just... you're really... nice to everyone. Yeah. You always put other people before yourself. Heck, you've even put yourself in danger to help others before. It's kinda- never mind."
"It's kinda what?" I prodded.
Some red crept into Lillie's cheeks. "It's... i-it's kinda.... c-cute?" she said in a quiet voice.
I felt my face heat up. Lillie buried her face in her hands in embarrassment.
"O-oh. Well uh..."
"S-sorry, I should've phrased it differently."
"N-no, it's fine. It's just... I've never been called that before."
We stood there in an awkward silence for a few seconds.
I scratched the back of my head. "How about we get back to exploring the island?"
"Y-yeah. Let's do that!"
I wanted this chapter to be longer, but I said I would gets this out yesterday, and I didn't. So I'm doing it today! Hope you guys enjoyed it.
Now, I need your guys' help. I'm wondering if you guys would rather me introduce some problem these two love birds have to solve, or do you just want it to stay as it is: some cheesy fluff? Decision is up to you guys. Comment below your answer.
Anyways, peace.
